AoE detaunts are overrated if you have a good tank (doesn't stack), and the RP/Zealot one is not an AoE detaunt it is a 50% damage reduction on yourself that unlike detaunt stacks with guard/your single target detaunt.
While 3 mintues may be long people need to keep in mind that it is a VERY stong ability.

The downside of RP/Zealot is just the fact that WP and DoK in particular outshines them by a big margin.

yes but shammys aoe detaunt is 15 sec the same time that it lasts so its uptime is 100%...when u pop zealots aoe it lasts 10 sec and u get 3 min cd on it...your chances to survive take a down turn

EtW is way better than an AoE detaunt why even compare them? You don't need a taget, it stops all incoming damage rather than those found within the AoE, has AP and setbacks modifiers. Does Zealot/RP really need a get out of jail free card on a short CD?

It also brings up the lack of a healthy enviroment to allow everything to be thourougly tested, maybe sitting on healers with BG/IB could be extremely strong if you cover for the weaknesses it would expose.
But you don't want to just sit on healers with IB/BG. You play as you would with any other tank, sticking close to your mdps and only push healers when they do. If you catch one, he is going down (inc HD from your mdps, out HD from your BG, superpunt any tank that tries to guard him, use 5 sed KD if needed). These CC tools can also be used defensively if one of your groupmates is in danger.

The most common mistake I see on some BG/IB players is that they break up from their group, trying to be a hero, sitting (alone) on a healer, or trying to land an epic superpunt, all the while their own group wipes. These players should understand that it doesn't matter how many awesome skills you have: your main job as a tank will ALWAYS be guarding your groupmates. On a BO, KotBS, IB, SM, BG and Chosen.

yes Jaycub lets say ranged is attacking you and you u use ST detaunt than 1 or two mdps hop on you and u detaunt them with EtW u have 10 secs and ur gone, this way gives you more chance to live

What is your tank doing during that time, what is your second healer doing during this time what are ur dps/cc doing during this time ?
I have a feeling you are coming from a soloing perspective where i can defo understand why you would find aoe detaunt to be strong , but in a group setting and with good communication and observation where the enemy is moving your tank can follow the train and you can position yourself better.

Shammy aoe detaunt is 10 seconds on a 30 sec cooldown, only healers who have 100% uptime on aoe detaunts are wp/dok with a tactic slotted.
