Nothing says fun like logging into your lvl 40 healer (on either side) and seeing no open warbands despite a keep siege happening...
I'm close to this point. RR56 Zealot, trying to find people to play with is insane. I can occasionally join pug warbands but its just not fun content. Organized groups are very insular and closed off, guild recruitment is non-existent and there is a lot of defeatist attitude around large ORvR content like forts/keeps.

My timezone doesn't help definitely (Oce) but even when I play at odd hours I notice the same problems.

I mostly just spam t1 characters since I can ORvR in the t1 lakes with low pop and enjoy myself.

If you're playing NA primetime I would suggest destro because we need boys. Order warbands are more organized even the pug ones. Jempire provides an open and welcoming guild and atmosphere, and as far as open warbands go they seem to be very organized and effective.

Some nights we get nightmare/daydream, or old school logging on, but typically they'll want RR60+ players, and that's if they even make a wb. Meiju runs a tight ship, but he still needs warm bodies. If you want the easy path play NA order. If you want to get relentlessly farmed, join us on destruction.

I'd love to play my IB again, but there's no point as NA destro is pretty pathetic. Above all find a class that you like to play. Still, we love this game.

I'm sure I'll get some pushback, but in particular weekend scenarios are hot trash on destro. I would form a group and get good, but competing even in an organized group is impossible with double slayer premades constantly queueing.

We prevented a fortress take last night. I literally can't remember the last time we, "won," a fort. Still we barely did it, Lord was at 2% or something. I nearly plotzed.

On second thought play order if you value your sanity, or if you play during EU. I have no idea how EU primetime goes. I expect it is more balanced. At any rate welcome, the game is the best PvP MMO there is. Sorry DaoC heads.

Some really good feedback in this topic, I especially enjoyed reading the OP and see from his fresh perspective what the game looked like. Thats always valuable when presented well!

I would like to add, that the population and momentum is very very playerdriven.
Pros and cons to that, naturally. But it encouraging to know you can go full tryhard, build a team, pug group, warband, guild or whatever and become succesful if you push hard enough.

An other thing is that depending on when you play, your view on the momentum might be very different from an other guy with slightly different playtimes.

As an example I can play late EU afternoon and that timeslot is heavily destro dominated by Formosa/Papa/zorbax/Gruf. Then because our guild is playing Tues/thurs/friday EU primetime for our main content, we some nights have a 12man vs 4 warbands on destro or some weeks have 2wb vs 2wb. It all depends on who is playing really.

and then just as we finsish our EU primetime warband if i stay up one or two hours later then destro will get the momentum again as Tegridy warband forms on destro.
So is the server destro dominated because it just happends to be my 3 timeslot hours are destro or even, no ofc not. Im well aware of Order haing some timezones they dominate.

My point being, the game is playerdriven if you get geared, get good, build something good, then you can dominate. This is olderschool social playing where you expand your friendslist and build a name for yourself to get invited into groups.

i appreciate all you guys input, i tried hard to keep playing on order, but as much "organized" as they are, there are simply no space for a solo player to try and play WB 90% of the time, on top of that SC's these days is just too painful. "Oh, form a sc with people" yea, every sc has those, sometimes the solo pt goes and rush enemy (they surrender), sometimes they dont see a tank in the other party and dont even try (then surrender), sometimes there are good fights and in the first sight of defeat incomming.. they surrender. i cant..
maybe the game is just not for me, i like having control of progression, not depending on the mood of people and most important, player numbers to rise so i can have a good experience.
i enjoyed my time, devs should be praised for keeping up a nice game, a shame its not more popular. im greatfull that i got to meet some nice people around, glhf
