From my understanding, two weapons with identical DPS but different speed will hit for the same damage over a 10 second period, the lower speed will hit harder less times than the faster weapon.
Norkalkilla , How about Procs however. Wouldnt a faster weapon potentially proc more and thus more dmg in that 10 sec span ?
It depends of the damage threshold and the impact on critical hits.
On my Witch Elf I would love to have 3+s daggers as that would make her main hand AA hit hard.
It was something I wasn't aware off and that Torq helped me to understand. The faster your weapon the lower the AA damage so the slower your weapon hits the higher your AA damage will be.
The problem I had was that I couldn't find out why Navar AA's hit for 100-200+ damage than my Witch Elf's AAs. It was actually my fast daggers that lowered my AA damage hits.
For the damage threshold it's very simple. If your hit's damage is too low the net damage from it will become noise. And with the new sets, and the future new sets, the damage threshold went up and will continue to go up.

The strong AA hits happen less often, so the total AA damage is the same, when weapon dps is equal. On WH it is good to stack as much damage as possible in a single hit, as finishers work this way as well with bullet procs. On WE it works different with kiss procs and more hits in a given time frame allow for more kiss procs.
Building WE for max AA damage is far from effective.

For WE, as it's proc dependant, fastest weapon in mainhand. The faster the better, always, Main hand speed determines the total AA speed, offhand has a chance to proc of main hand attacks. You want as slow and high dps weapon in offhand as possible.

Its true. If u can fights 100% face to face. If some1 run, stun or other stuf and U dont in mele 100% of time its better slower wepon that hit harder.

No, it isn't because of mitigation, therefore I also mentioned the damage threshold.
It's not because you want it to be the way you want it to be that it suddenly becomes fact.

And percentage based mitigation by armor is more effective on bigger hits. We all know it. You are not reinventing the wheel here. Your statement is at best true for toughness mitigation.
What you are skipping is the reduction of kiss procs with slower attack speed, not to mention all other procs in the game.
