Go with you first picks here, chosen or kotbs. Both have high impact in a group, a good tank is harder to find than any dps.
Sure you will not very good damage, but thats what your group is for.
Then dont buy this dps healer crap, they can be good but its not worth it because you need high rr and gear to make it work in group. Dok and WP are not even good solo in pvp.

I am indeed leaning towards KOTB/Chosen or PERHAPS BO/SM but more towards the earlier. Now which is better overall? KOTB or Chosen? I understand one is more defensive other is more offensive but which would people say is BETTER overall.

IB and BG are the most versatyle classes that have the most impact in fight. Both are also great at PVE.

The are also the 2 highest ceiling of skill classes ina game.

Hello, i'm not the original poster but I wanted to piggy back and ask you a question.

How do IB and SM compare as tanks? I'd like to start a tank class, but I'm having difficulties trying to figure out exactly what their "niche" playstyles are and how they compare.

My understand is that SM utilizes aura-swapping and has some healing capabilities while IB relies on taking damage and working together with their defensive target for their grudge mechanic. I know they differ, but I believe that these are the two tanks that have viable 2h spec options right? I'm preferably looking for one that solo level PvE when needed. If that's the case, is SM the better choice? I'm afraid if I play solo, I'm essentially losing out on IB's grudge mechanic?

Thanks

And IB > Blackguard?

Do you have any idea who is better between KOTBS/Chosen ?

Thanks for replying.

To have any significant impact on a fight you need the support around you so I would suggest looking for a decent guild and see what they need and go from that short list to decide what u want to play.
Solo pve/pvp think is covered but tank ends up typically quite versatile rather than the solo specific classes

big impact is coming from player skills, not from class.
all tanks are kinda balanced.
their core skills are what really matters,
each trees provide useful tools to support core role.
like PvE, be the tank in 100vs100 battle.
grab bunch of players and survive until dps kills them. or sacrifice to save ur grp.
knowing when to push, hold ground and fall back is most important.

Yeah but finding a decent guild without even having a character is going to be a bit tough probably. I'm really interested in the Chosen/KOTB type role so I'll prob end up playing that. I'm just unsure which is better overall. I've heard both.
