In regards to your question: Get organized. Pug warband can be organized, too. Prompt the leader to sort out groups (spread dps, tanks and heal), or lead yourself. As far as Lord clubbing is concerned... Don't expect to be rewarded for hotjoining a pug warband and brainafking away for 30min, in badly setup groups and little to no movement or general involvement past spamming a button in a room, surrounded by +60 other players.

You don't have to gank necessarily - e.g.: you could nest a 6man in a pug warband and do just fine, just play PvP... not pug gambling with die that are loaded against you.
All it essentially takes is a reliable group ~ duo join a pug warband, with a reliable dps and you'll be set... provided your glorious pug leader doesn't command the headless chicken to afk on a flag or on a Lord (opt for WBs that hold first floor or postern, or skirmish around the BOs).
Maybe I didn't express myself clearly enough, but I was not asking about pug vs. organized play, I was talking about damage and killing blows being the primary determinant of a person's loot chances, as opposed to engaging with the RvR system (holding BOs, fighting the Lord, using siege, etc.). I play in both pug and organized groups, and everything in between, I lead pug and organized warbands frequently, I'm not some "tandom pug" complaining about organized groups. I'm worried that these loot mechanics that you describe favor small 6 man groups who move from BO to BO looking for stragglers and don't actually push the war forward. RvR is supposed to be about large scale fights, large groups pushing against one another for a greater objective; but these mechanics seem to incentivize action contrary to that idea.

I opened a similar topic, so i can tell you my experience:

WH : around 3 weeks of solo play killing people for hours = full conq, full genesis , 2x subj.
WP: 3+ weeks in warband, premade, 2-3 man, solo play, bags are really rare in fact still miss some genesis and bought conq with medallions, around 60 to get last piece. One time i won 2 gold bags in 2 consecutive locks after long time (Thanks Sigmar  )

I won most of my bags without hitting the lord so i think is not really necessary, i think fight and defend BO's is better in terms of rewards / fun

In additional: The luck is important too

Hint: you'd better chase that AAO not for miserable 20-80% rr buff, but for your roll not to be "adjusted for your army size" ;)

I didn't mean to directly address you with that, it was meant as a generalized tongue in cheek about pug/premade ~ my apologies.

BOs, Lord, Siege - all these things are relevant to contribution, they <seem> (note, all the things I am stating are based on observation on a wide range of R40/R50 characters; I am not a dev or have greater insight) to however be not rewarded 'as much' on the basis of player engagement.
Capping a BO, using Siege and clubbing a Lord are things that can take place without any PvP occuring whatsoever, all these things are basically meant to be hubs to faciliate PvP ~ the devs state that these things reward players with contribution, players flock to objectives, PvP ensues.
It is not a matter of scale either, there are plently of organized warbands around that only touch objectives if there are fights to be found, for good reason (imagine organizing +16 player [= x diffrent timezones], taking time off your busy day's schedule to meet up online.... to then just sit on flags and do PvE in empty/uncontested keeps in strict abidence to the rules of the campaign and large scale RvR).

If your argument revolves around choosing fights over progressing the campaign, then the entire scale related spin falls apart.
If your argument revolves around scale as a detriment to campaign progress, well... these 6-12mans are still picking off people that'd would otherwise, if left uncontested, reinforce whatever large forces are clashing, or poke BOs that'd go neglected - all the while drawing attention ( = pug warbands love chasing smaller numbers around, prompting them to neglect the marvelled objectives, too).

The current system rewards everyone for <just playing>, however it favors those that opt for player involvement - mind you, you, again, can still do all the things ganking 6mans do while in a full(y organized) warband, whilst sitting in/around a keep or other objectives.

Good advice Darosh. IMO the contrib reflects the fun in RvR and I've received a bag most times (mostly green/white) as a healer (destro).
I love this game and the server community. Thank you to the RoR staff.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Still confused as everything said here, i been doing along with 5 others in my group.
And as i said in first post, seemed we did pretty good from seeing my other group members get purple or gold bags...sadly after 3 days i havent seen any.

When i read the comment of playing WH solo ganking for 3 weeks and being fully geared, i can only feel like something in the system isnt really fair. On the other hand glad i rolled a WH as alt :)

My pov is... I don't get how the system works at all, sometimes I believe that it's 80% of luck and 20% of stacking up contribution rolls

I'm currently RR67 and I have no need for bags so I tend to play some lolspecs for fun (2h solo knight etc.). Yet I'm getting 1-2 gold bags weekly and plenty of others (I've around 20-25 unused genesis tokens) and surprisingly I get pretty much the same amount of bags during guild events where I'm properly specced, have pocket guardee and get tons of kills and during the time when I jump in solo, kill few guys, leech BO and run around with half-assed attitude.

So pray to RNGesus I guess

You can win all these bags, but anything you earn from them becomes useless within 30min after equipping the item. The armor set you buy easily with the medals and you'll spend the rest of your time picking up the items you already have.

When my Squigherder got full conq/genesis/subj. I wanted to get full conq set for my BG, after months of buying all the conq gear I got bored with the BG and went to the squigherder. In a week a got a 2nd set of conq and subj for my squiggy.

Can we maybe get the view from devs on this? Is this wrking as intended or known and subject to some tweaks?
Sorry looked around on the forums and couldnt really find any usefull info on this except for other healers complaining how hard it is to get geared now
