Take out enemy dps and it's not gonna mather how much healing the other team does coz they are no longer a threat. So no, having the moast healers isn't the winning factor.
Exactly, it boggles my mind why still people run the "kill healers first" tactic. To overcome healing you have to assist.

People see the dps being healed and think they have to kill the healer.

As you say it all comes down to working together. Thats why any premade will beat any pug just by working together on one target at a time

You should remember that the game was designed about mass ORvR with hundreds of people fighting in one place. Most of AOE skills have limits on how many targets it can hit but there are no limits on how many enemies can hit YOU.
Imagine a situation when you have only 2 healers in your group who can heal you and there are 100 of enemies who can land at least one skill on you. So, yeah, healing numbers are too big for small scale for sure, competent healer can negate more than 3 damage dealers focusing the protective target.
Just deal with it, the game is made for big numbers

Guard doesn't stack with detaunt so meh. Believe me Voldepoule's zealot can kite 2 parties or even more without health dropping lower than 50%. And RP is even tougher. One premade group can kite a warband through the whole pairing.

Kiting a bunch of pugs doesn't matter. No single healer can outheal 4 competent damage dealers.

GCDs and casttimes are more of an issue than guard+HDs combined. If you have +2 targets on you, thats +2 sets of AA (possibly with offhand procs), procs, styles and dots.
People either die because of burst (=too much dps within 1-2 GCDs to heal through/react to), or sustained damage (=consistent, high damage over <5GCDs that starves supports off AP/CDs or creates a kind of pendulum effect that culminates in semiperiodic bursts that lands in between a supports GCD cycle).

Aside from burst eventually skipping healer GCDs by exceeding HP pools and sustained damage forcing constant attention and enabling hardswaps by messing with the GCD cycles -
even with the best AP regen/AP pots healer eventually run out of resources if the have to spam stuff 24/7 without interruption.
TLDR: Group up; assist, guardstrip, debuff.

I have made a thread complaining about how too many healers can make a match ridiculous in one way or another. But I dont have a problem with healers, quite the opposite.

There are plenty of games that have a philosophy against dedicated healers. Ive tried them, they are terrible and thats why I am here playing this game again.

An excessive amount of healers is a crutch, it can be insurmountable in a pug and can sometimes seem very ridiculous. But it can be a liability to a well formed group that plays well.
