You're new (as you say). I've played both Mara and WL to 82+ RR. Mara pull is superior to WL pull. They don't have to be equal because the classes aren't exact mirrors. Wl pull requires multiple stages to prepare it and relies on pet AI (target, sprint, LF, then the pull. Mara is a tab target then execute the pull.

WL can fill a gap to target using jump, while Mara has not.

I'd be in favor of making the pulls and tank punts a morale ability. IMO there is too much CC happening in game.

Also Mara pull does not require a path to target unlike the WL one, so it can pull from walls, on top of it as another gap closer Mara have access to 100ft range KD.

The wl and Mara are not a mirror. If it was then the Mara would have the same dps output as the wl. The debate of not having true mirror class is valid, in the way that what a class provide, his counterpart doesnt have to provide it.
The Main issue I have with that is, big diff in between the 2 factions.
Destro clearly has more CC, tankyness, and play around morals.
Order is more of a big damage bomb.
So lets say you gave the same pull to the WL you need to trade it with less damage output. This could be said for all those CC's destro has over Order.
AOE KD from mara, nothing like it on order (if you say AOE KD from Engie well, Magus has it to).
GTTC no Equivalent, and Mara pulls no equivalent in 12+ situation (yes some times if you play very ST in a 12 mens kiting group you could have a WL with pet out but you know what I mean, don't play dumb).
What I would love to see when it comes to not true mirror class, is to still have the same tools on both faction but with them giving to different class. GTTC could be given to an underperforming class (in WB) to the order side. SO we could start introducing other class to order WB. Cause since order pretty much only has damage, and very little utility (order doesnt even play with healdebuff anymore ...). Order brings out the best damage tools.
I'm an Engie lover, and its the only class that can provide utility but the trade off is to big, with been hard to pull off (no charge to get in, very squishy due to bad gear stats unless you play tanky and then you bring no damage, magnet need to be reworked ...).
But for all of those abilities order damage need to be tuned down a fair bit.
SO YES mara pulls is overall Better. That been said its kinda fair atm, due to order damage been high. Even tho its super frustrating for order and opens up way more things for destro in WB.

WL pull may be better in a 1vs1 or small scale situation, it is however near useless in large scale fight considering the WL pet is going to spend 90% of the time dead waiting for the ridiculous long 15 sec recast CD only to die instantly again.nat3s wrote: Mon Jun 10, 2024 8:34 pm Personally find WL pull to be vastly superior as a solo roamer. Yeah don't disagree, but zergers are a plagued imo. Solo/small scale is where it's at for me. Skill/challenge > mindless zerging
