Black background

Hi, i just made an account and downloaded the game today. My problem is, when i'm on the main menu, the background is just black. I can choose a server but can't click anything at all regarding faction and race. I'm completely stuck. Already tried deleting my user folder and reinstalling the entire thing over again. Does anyone know what to do?

There are several steps to take after downloading the game regarding permissions to different files. There's some links in my sig that might help.

Did all of that. The problem just won't go away. I have no clue what it can be and it sucks because i was looking forward to getting into this.

Not really anyting to show. It's total black, with 2 boxes with the races in them. Everything is unclickable.

Lets restart since the beginning.

1-You downloaded the game from RoR forum link ( torrent? MEGA?)
2- You downloaded RorLauncher.exe
3- You have copied RoRLauncher.exe in the game folder ( same place tahn war.exe, warpatch.exe...)
4- You have unchecked the read onlyu property on Game folder
5- Started RoRlauncher.exe in admin mode, entered your Login and Password, then cilcked on connect button
6- Selected the game server " Martyr's Place"
7- Then black screen ?

Exactly right. I can see 2 boxes with the names of the races in them, but nothing responds to clicking except the server tab. Music and options work as well, but the background is just black. Downloaded via torrent.

Tried changing from full screen to windowed or vise versa?

I did. Literally nothing works. Compatabillity setting won't work either.

What version of Windows? WAR uses DirectX9.0c which is not installed by default on Win8/10, you would need the DX9 SDK from Microsoft.

Did you kill the torrent after downloading and move it to another location?
