Why the magus hate?

This is my last post in this thread, as at this point the horse is dead.

The gist of the magus is, they can be, with any build, be very deadly, by the amount of damage that can be spread over the battlefield, and WILL very much be a major threat to order. As it has been my experience that just like destro, order WILL and HAVE ran in panic from the damage amount, even if the magus themselves do any killing or not, as it makes order players that much faster to kill, by the other classes. simple as that.

From the kotbs point of view I never viewed enemy maguses as "useless". In fact, they were more dangerous to me than most sorcs because they were harder to block and could debuff your resists into oblivion.

Maybe in later tiers. Does not seem to resemble this early on. You get dropped too fast by classes that can actually deal damage NOW, to be around long enough to do much w/the DoT. Maybe a bit here and there where you can run up, but you have to run back pretty fast, hoping you get spamhealed, otherwise you are out of the fight for several minutes. I have seen ppl far better at the class than me, still seem to have the same issues.

If maguses drop too fast, then sorcs are totally useless. Sorc is much more squishy than magus, have almost no control and no mobility at all.

Sorc burst at range is enough that *they can hang back and still do some damage*, and then run. TBH I found sorcs also nearly impossible to keep vertical until ~ lvl 8, unless I spent most of my time running away (EDIT: but then good at 9, awesome at 10, and ridiculously great at 11, whereas Magus remains a slog, just a slightly more versatile slog). The DoT rotations work a bit better because you don't have to worry as much abt pulling guard NPCs w/an @%$* AoE debuff DoT, like Magus does if he wants to do more than one thing as he runs. DoT + DoT -> DoT w/ranged snare, then fast Burst then slow burst. . All at decent range.. . works a bit better once you get there. Not as much reliance on 5ft to midrange range AoEs and running up to nearly the front of the line.

Of T2 sorc, all I know is a R14 T2r can't drop (or even scratch) a R26 T3r in T2, so it's hard to tell how actual T2 works for the class.

Magus AoE is really powerful in T1-2, when facing healers under level 20 (no group heal). T3-T4 it is better going ST, unless you run with a bomb group and use Rift a lot.

This is what a AoE Magus currently does when facing non-afk, lvl 20+ healers. Compare his damage/db ratio to some of order's White Lions. He did more damage than all of them combined; they got 34 dbs and he got 3.

Damage alone means nothing. Burst is everything (that's the only way you get kills when facing half-decent healers).

Yep, but uh really....what class isn't powerful when a healer is not present?

The only things that will make people assume magi are op is rift in t3. Why? if door has no los requirement, then anyone who attacks the door will be rifted inside and killed. But of course, eng's can do the same. It's just going to be a big mess.

Magus is my favorite class. Get ur own sc grp, then u can get OP.

Why? Currently we only have those 2 tiers, and it has been like that for 1+ year. We dont know when T3 is coming (and T4 might take 1 or 2 years from now). It only makes sense to talk about current experiences and tiers.

dumb people posting about t4 are dumb. Same as people who still put their rr100s names in their signatures.
