so whats a good career for a new player?
so whats a good career for a new player?
hey before I jump into War I was wondering if some of the careers are new player friendly and thank you for your time and help (p.s I like playing careers/classes that are ether heavily armored, melee dps or ranged with pets if that helps at all)

Re: so whats a good career for a new player?
This game doesn't have high mechanical skill requirements nor is one class much harder to pull off than any other, lack of skill shots and risk reward etc...abilities ensure that. Most of the skill on the individual level is metagame knowledge and certain "plays" in group settings, otherwise it is very straight forward.
The main thing I would say for a new player is to play a class that you like aesthetically/lore/playstyle wise and stick with it at least until "end game". The other thing is this is very much a team based game, sort of like CSGO? Make sure you find a guild, and make sure that guild uses some kind of VOIP often and people communicate and try to work together. You won't get far in this game without a good group.

Pick your poison,
Tanks are tanks all in their own right. Stay alive keep everyone else alive do utility duty
Melee DPS are lots of Damage very squishy prepare to die easily when on your own. Befriend a healer and a tank if possible to keep you able to do your damage
Squig herder, the only "ranged" pet class.
Everything has a strength and a weakness, unless you are in a group that can offset each other everything will be beaten more easily by something else and vice versa.
I'de say just play whatever you think you would like the most till 10 if you still can't decide try another, etc until you find something that you enjoy.
All the classes are pretty easy to figure out as you level and are pretty self explanatory. Each are unique and you can get really in depth as to maximizing your class/Filling your role, that's why a lot of people really enjoy the game. Try both sides, even mirrored classes have some small changes that make them different from each other. I've heard of examples of people who refuse to play a Warrior Priest, but main and absolutely adore Disciple of Khaine.
I struggle finding a class myself, you just have to commit to something you enjoy and tell yourself there is no perfect class, and you have to just understand where you fit on the spectrum of the Trinity and where your utility excels. every class has something to offer, but none have everything.
And that kids is how MMO's work and force a social aspect, because you need other's help because you cant fill every role.
Sorry for the long winded answer I've been struggling wit the same kind of question for awhile now.
Regards,

first you have to pick your realm, order or destro. Ingame at the character creation screen, there is a class overview of each character which explains what their role is. Goodluck! , play whatever you like and have fun.
Re: so whats a good career for a new player?
alright I was thinking of going with Destro and do a Squig herder, black orc or a Chosen and thanks for the advice

Like Luftwaffle has mentioned, pick your poison.
As a tank you will be flamed for not guarding random people enough, punting or not punting red people around. You will do all the hard work and no one will notice.
As a healer you will be flamed for not healing random people enough. Gods forbid if you try to damage red guys instead of healing random people around. You will do all the hard work and it won't be enough still.
As RDPS you will be flamed for easymode noskill.
As MDPS you will die a real lot unless you have friendly healer and/or tank, as mentioned above.
But most important, of course, is having fun. Play the class you like and ignore the flamers.
