I don't think it's as simple as that, I had a site for 3 years that definitely contributed to the game and the witch elf class, everyone knew about it, we had Warhammer funnies called Warbits and had a huge following. Seems a shame to lock a name when the character isn't even being played.

If they had actually logged in and played the character I'd see it differently.

Imo it doesn't set a bad precedent.

As I said, I'd like the name Azuzu. I use it for my forum name, my twitch stream, ect.

A level 5 Rune Priest that has only 1 day played and hasn't been logged on in ages has it: http://www.returnofreckoning.com/armory ... name=Azuzu

Still you snooze you lose, which sucks, but it's the nature of MMOs.

Az sent a PM to the player directing him to this thread .. So its up to that player on if he will release the name to you .. Lets hope he is friend and not foe .. :)

While I don't think you should be treated differently because, your either A: Popular or B: Feel you deserve it because of what you feel you contribute.

I do agree that if an account is unplayed characters under a specific level should be purged.

A lot of MMOs do this. If you don't log into the account for x-amount of time and you have a bunch of level 1s with names taken, those characters are purged to make them available to those actually playing.
