Need tech help!

Hey

So short backstory to my questions. I had a really huge struggle to get online on this fantastic server. I did all the suggested steps to try solve my problems, and none of them worked (fixing counters, write only, compatible mode, downloading different versions etc etc.) In the end what solved my problems was this program "Hotspot Shield(VPN)" now then comes my question.

Does anyone have any idea to why this solved my problems? What did that program do to help me acuired access to the WAR server? I dont really like the program as it is interfering with alot of other stuffs on my computer and the amount of bandwith I can use up when browsing the internet for some freaky reason?!

Would very much appreciate any suggestion to what other option I might have, in the meantime I will use this program cause I cant be without our fantastic private server

Ok so if anyone is intressted I finally found the cause of my problems. I had an Apple Airport Extreme as a router post my providers router in my network at home. Now that I have plugged out the Airport and went straight from my providers router it seems to work without any VPN program.

If anyone else has similar setup at home I suggest you try to bypass the Airport router/switch. I havent checked yet with settings on the airport that blocked my access to WAR.
