Exactly people need to stop acting like xrelming is some cancerous disease or something, their are multiple classes that are fun on both sides and id like to experience and play all of them depending on what my mood is

You want people to stick to one faction make ingame incentives

Rewards.

People should be free to play both sides, because Elves have amazing hair and you don't always want to go Evil Hair.

So, reward people for playing more on one side or the other. Time played, number of characters. something cool but not game-breaking.

A timer could help, not perfectly, but could help.
dynamic IP isn't nearly as dynamic as you may think - majority of ISP's worldwide use reservations in their routing tables, so even if you were to disconnect and restart your modem/router you'd likely be assigned the same IP again.
I get always a different IP adress, often even from a completely different range (ISP has reserved two different ranges).

This. Amount of people suggesting to implement a fraction lock/1 account per ip/whatever these days is way too high. Ladies and gentleman, you want to improve ORVR system and make it fair - good. But please, before suggesting something, think about it - your suggestions may hurt other players who have nothing to do with you and your problem.

And why do players Xrealm? To join the winning side.

Why do they join the winning side? To earn INF/Tokens/XP/Renown.

Why do they want INF/Tokens/XP/Renown? Because they are needed for GEAR.

Why don't they stick with losing side? Because losing side doesn't gain anywhere near the INF/Tokens/XP/Renown.

Hmmmm? It's so tough to come up with something that will stop Xrealmers and just let players enjoy fighting each other without it being an arm's race.

Okay, there are people who are looking at this issue from two different angles.

One demands people stick to one faction and run with it. Realm pride as Azarael put it. The other involves people who want to experience both sides of the spectrum.

The issue has no easy answer, no matter what people try to spew out.

On the face of it I support people who wish to play any and every class. It gives the developers the maximum possible data points on which to progress this game. The downside is that its actual PEOPLE who are playing those classes. As a general rule people prefer to win. Hands down. That means they'll often follow the path of least resistance towards 'winning' while not realising that there is no 'winning' in this game in its current state.

While x-realming is great in theory, its not ideal when players are involved.

Find a way to make it attractive to play the underdog side. When people want to play that side, then nobody would swap sides only because it is easier. When progress is faster, then people will gravitate towards the underdog.
Stop discussing whether xrealming is good or bad. Neither is true.
Dying is no option.

And why do they want GEAR? Because they need gear to have better chance of winning.

And why do they want Better chance of Winning? Because winning is much more fun than losing.

The question therefore is: how to make losing fun?
