Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
Just how useful is this affective is the Giantslayer tree for the slayer in the long run? I have ranked up a giantslayer, but I've never had one past T2.

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
Its terrible, all slayers should DW becasue slayers 2 most powerful... and some might argue questionably balanced abilities are shatter limbs and Inevitable doom and ID required DW
Having said that their is talk that shatter limbs will be given a longer CD so that 2 slayers cant alternate shatter limbs for 100% uptime like they did on live and ID will be made clensaeable so here in RoR it might be worth it to go 2h slayer down the line

SL does not require dual wield IIRC, only ID.Coryphaus wrote:Its terrible, all slayers should DW becasue slayers 2 most powerful... and some might argue questionably balanced abilities are shatter limbs and Inevitable doom and ID required DW

Also, I think instead of nerfing people need to start thinking about actually buffing the choppa in line with the slayer.. or even make the giantslayer build viable so that more slayers will go 2H like I do.
Everyone is quick to nerf but noone is quick to buff.

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
Right the problem with giant slayer is that 2 of the attacks you want out of that tree all make you drop rage and a slayer that keeps dropping rage will kill nothing.
So the solution seems like power through? well again it leads to improper rage management not being able to drop it when you need to will kill you ALLOT.
Great weapons have good burst theres no denying that, however the dual wield spec has much higher sustained damage and after 5 seconds on target will leave a great weapon in the dust in terms of damage not to mention the push back you get out of hitting your opponent a minimum of 4-5 times a gcd and trust me the number of times you can cause damage different skills on slayer per gcd can get into double digits.

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
Slayers don't need to worry about dps drop from rage dropping with rampage nullifying late game dmg reduction from block and parry
Hence why they don't even need to slot powered through

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not.Coryphaus wrote:Slayers don't need to worry about dps drop from rage dropping with rampage nullifying late game dmg reduction from block and parry

Our wounds debuff exhausts our rage.
Our spellbreaker exhausts our rage.
Our Deathblow exhausts our rage.
Are you saying that we should only be using spinecrusher, cleft in twain, and pulverizing strike as our only damaging abilities?
The point that he made earlier is 100% accurate.

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
Im talking about from the fact that pretty much all slayers use/used Rampage into ID with undefended attacks and each attack created more procs and was powerful in both zergs and ST and id wasnt clenseable on live even though mythic said that they would make it clenseable
Hence because of undefendable attacks slayers dont need to spec powered through

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
It wasn't cleansable but you could literally right click ID off. At the end of live they had created an addon that most destro used to instantly remove ID once it was applied.. automatically.Coryphaus wrote:Im talking about from the fact that pretty much all slayers use/used Rampage into ID with undefended attacks and each attack created more procs and was powerful in both zergs and ST and id wasnt clenseable on live even though mythic said that they would make it clenseable
ID will be a moot point once we are high enough level to use it. That along with them nerfing shatter limbs will make the slayer pretty much unplayable. People will bitch and moan about every class until everything is nerfed into the ground and nothing dies.
I don't see order crying out that maras need to be nerfed.. but considering the vocal minority on the forums seem to call for nerfs to order classes but noone is screaming about destro classes I find it kind of interesting. There are clearly some classes that will need fine-tuning once we hit t4.
These changes need to be done in priority based on how well the class is functioning without said nerfs/buffs:
Magus / Engi - need major buffs
BO / SM - need buffs
Zealot / RP - need small buffs
WL - needs a buff / Mara - needs a slight nerf
AM / Sham - slight buff
Dok / WP - Keep same
Slayer - slight buff to 2h / Choppa - needs buff to aoe tree
BW / Sorc - No change
Ch / KoTBS - maybe put back 9s stagger or no change
SW / SH - No change

Took them long enough, but i was not around for that

Lol unplayable? more like a bit more balanced Ordo never ran anything else in their 6 mans but 2 slayers b/c of how strong the class was and cause 100% uptime on shatter limbs, with shatter limbs nerf to have higher cd then 2h slayer will be more viable

i see people mention that maras need nerfing all the time
These changes need to be done in priority based on how well the class is functioning without said nerfs/buffs:
Magus / Engi - need major buffs Magus does not need buff the class just hasnt gotten its strong abilites and tactics yet
BO / SM - need buffs yes
Zealot / RP - need small buffs no both classes are fine
WL - needs a buff / Mara - needs a slight nerf Yes and yes but wl needs be be reworked with tree orgainization and stuff but once that is all done pounce needs to be nerfed
AM / Sham - slight buff not really
Dok / WP - Keep same yes
Slayer - slight buff to 2h / Choppa - needs buff to aoe tree slayer 2h tree is good imho but is over shadowed by AoE tree
BW / Sorc - No change yes
Ch / KoTBS - maybe put back 9s stagger or no change 9s stagger was game breaking, i also dislike runefang as i feel it is too good a tactic on a class that is all ready very strong/good
SW / SH - No change yes

Re: Giantslayer, Great Axe Slayer
On rampage coryphaus you are wrong. Its purely for dueling, polishing off unhealed tanks and dropping rage when disarmed. Setting up rampage mid fight takes you out of combat to long at which point your healers get their faces wrecked cause you cant do enough dps.
I don't know about over players but a green slayer isn't going to make me kite.
