Re: New RvR system vs Old RvR system Poll
i liked resource carriers, don't hate
what we did last night when I was on was take a keep, not wait for it to tick, rush to the other zone to position ourselves around bos, take said bos when zone unlocked, forget about guarding because they'd take a long time to open anyway, zerg keep, door and lord goes down quick, rinse, repeat
it only took a few times for people to start leaving the warband to do scs. there were very few order to defend anything, and really I don't blame them. the first night this went live, instead of letting the order zerg farm me, I stayed in the wc chatting to a few passerby. I did try to take bos in dwarf after zone reset, but order took the keep before we could lock anything, so.
now I know there are plans to cut lock times down, and I know my experience wasn't representative of what goes on in the lakes every day. A few times when I got on during the day, there were lots of people on, lots of fighting, and very few keep takes, as i'd suppose was the original intent, which is great.
so all you know, I'm a casual player with no premade. I don't assume that fact alone makes me a noob, but I readily admit that I am one. I miss the bolt throwers; even if it was only me defending, I could still take down a ram if I was lucky, or, snipe an unsuspecting afker, which was always fun..
What i'm trying to say is that things can't always be one way. The tide of war is ever-changing! So yeah.. it's hard to predict what will happen with this patch, especially if it's based only on one point of view. so i'll wait and see what happens. maybe more people will rvr in my time slot eventually, wouldn't that be grand? though honestly, it seemed people were just on their destro toons last night. what's that? I should make friends and xrealm to make things even? heresy!

Re: New RvR system vs Old RvR system Poll
I created this topic to see how people were reacting. It seems, so far, that people prefer this, but it is not there yet (we may never get there, but we can try! ).
We do have the main issue of imbalance.
I voted for the old system, why? Simply because there was way more fighting there, and it was more fun to play it.
The current one, yes there are times that a keep is defended and there is a very nice battle, but that happens every once in a while, happened twice last night, between about 10 zone locks.
The thing is that after a good battle, the losing side loses so much force, people just don't want to try and fight again, knowing they will lose. And I have nothing against losing, but it's gotta be rewarding somehow.
Is it possible to add AAO buff? That would be a major incentive to the less populated side to go and try something, maybe even losing the AAO because more people get out there to try something, it worked wonders before. Having AAO, I'd vote for the new system.

old system and 15 min lock zone after tick
Re: New RvR system vs Old RvR system Poll
Were we playing the same game? The entire reason for the recent changes has been precisely because people didn't fight at all, and just traded keeps and BOs...dkabib wrote:I voted for the old system, why? Simply because there was way more fighting there, and it was more fun to play it.
Re: New RvR system vs Old RvR system Poll
server is always between 47 to 50% for each side i dont know how that unbalance myth comes from but it seems like a self fullfilling prophecy "destro has more players" "oh ok lets log out or stay in wc" --> "destro has more players" and vice versa.

That's how I feel. But I understand the direction of the changes, I'm just trying to see a way to make it even better!Azarael wrote:Were we playing the same game? Well, I did have more fights that way. Last night, I played for about 6 hours straight, and got like 3 keep fights I guess =(
As I mentioned, after losing once, the winning gets more peeps, and losing loses peeps.
It goes like that for a while, until the winning side gets tired of empty keeps, then it balances on a keep, and it repeats its process for the other side.

Still better than the old "order is on Ostland? ok let's take dorf. Ok, let's go to Ostland now and give them time to cap Dorf back".dkabib wrote:Well, I did have more fights that way. You gave the ideas for this, what do you think now? Any way of improving?
