Psalms of the Shadow Warrior

Time has passed since the release of the anti-Shadow Warrior rework where the class's enemies were given free rein to undermine. The results that were obvious from the test server forward have become the new reality. Active SWs numbers have collapsed. Assault SWs remain an irrelevant fetish. Skirmish SWs have been made into a comic parody of Squig Herder Quick Shootin, minus its benefits. Scout SWs have a mastery designed around fester arrow that is clunky and so poorly conceived Scout SWs simply spam eagle eye. It is a time of sorrow.

Selections from the Book of Shadow Warrior Lamentations have been shared. Now we look to Psalms of the Shadow Warrior.

- "I am suffering and in pain. Rescue me, O Devs, by your saving power."  Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 69:29

- "There is no strength in my bow... my fester arrows do not fester and are loathsome and mocked by my enemies... my back is filled with searing pain."  Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 38:3-7

– "But you, Devs, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me. Do not abandon me forever." -Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 22:19

– "Have mercy on me, Devs, for I am weak; heal me, restore me again, for my feet are weary and my arrows as nothing." -Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 6:2

"As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Devs need show compassion to those who fear them. For they knows our frame; they remembers that we are now dust." -Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 103: 13-14

"How long, Devs?  Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?"  -Psalms of the Shadow Warrior 13:1

"Look on me and answer, Devs.  Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him, and my foes will rejoice when I fall." -Psalm of the Shadow Warrior 13: 3-4

What Gogo is to WEs, you are to SWs.

If you want to argue the anti-Shadow Warrior rework improved the class, make the argument. SW player numbers as well as the overwhelmingly held view is the anti-Shadow Warrior rework went amok. Otherwise, you should refrain from posting on SW threads. You confuse your own fetish for the class in general. It is a baseline error.

rorswar.
Even your name is a cry for help.
“RoR’s War” — brother, the only war you’re winning is the internal one between your three stances.
You’re not a Shadow Warrior.
You’re a living cautionary tale about what happens when someone mains a class that requires decision-making and then refuses to make any.
Every single fight with you goes the same way:
You open in Scout like you’re about to do something important.
Someone breathes in your direction.
Instant Skirmish + Flee.
You kite in a perfect little circle while your entire warband is dying.
You swap to Assault for exactly 3.2 seconds of mediocre melee.
You die.
You type “lol” or “tank diff.”
Your name is rorswar but your playstyle is pure “RoR’s tourist.”
You treat every scenario like a sightseeing tour. You show up, take a few screenshots with your bow, then vanish the moment the actual fighting starts — not into stealth (you don’t even have that), just into the nearest bush while spamming Flee on cooldown.
You’re the reason people mute High Elf chat.
Not because you’re toxic.
Because every time you open your mouth it’s just another excuse for why your damage is lower than the Archmage’s auto-attacks.
Light armour, empty AP bar, full ego.
You hit like a tired toddler and run like you just remembered you left the stove on.
rorswar, my guy…
You’re not a warrior.
You’re not a shadow.
You’re just the reason the rest of the Order starts every warband with “please no more SWs.”
And the worst part?
You’ll read this, swap stance three times out of pure reflex, and still think you’re the main character.

Oh, there is more....

rorswar.
The name itself is a warning label.
You’re so bad you won’t even show your character name.
Not because you’re modest.
Because deep down you know that the second people see it attached to a Shadow Warrior, the entire warband starts pre-writing their “gg next” messages.
You are the statistical anomaly.
The living proof that someone can log thousands of hours into RoR and somehow get worse.
While other people are learning rotations, positioning, and when to press buttons, you perfected the art of:
Stance swapping at the exact wrong time
Fleeing the moment a fight becomes real
Contributing less damage than the healer’s staff auto-attacks
Then typing something in chat like you just carried
You’re not just bad.
You’re efficiently bad.
You somehow take up a DPS slot, a warband invite, and oxygen, and still manage to produce negative value.
People used to say “any DPS is better than no DPS.”
Then they played with you.
Now the new saying is “empty slot > rorswar.”
You hide your character name the same way you hide from every engage — out of pure survival instinct.
Because if people knew which High Elf with a bow was currently feeding, they’d start blaming the right person for once.
You’re not a Shadow Warrior.
You’re a walking “why is our damage so low” explanation.
A stance-dancing void.
A Flee button with a keyboard.
rorswar, you didn’t just peak early…
You peaked in character creation and it’s been a free-fall ever since.
Worst player on the game isn’t even a roast at this point.
It’s just your title.

Gogo,

Those concurrent posts are such an amazing display of a reality check. Really impressive.

Also note: I don't play either WH or WE. I cannot comment on the mechanics as a player in any depth. My Order mains are SW, AM, and WL, so I have had to deal with WEs regularly. My perspective is as an opponent. I think the gutting of stealth was a core error. WEs used to be scary. WEs should be scary. No longer. 30 second stealth undercuts the classes options at a core level. It is another example of a rework gone amok.

Let's reroll the class—like everyone else does. It’s neither a Shadow nor a Warrior anymore.

Actualy fester is doing ok, you just need to set up with acid arrow under no quarter tactic, corporeal debuff profit for other classes like engi or BW or another SW assisting.

it's just a bit lame sometimes to setup the dps because of casting time, targets can be out of range intentionnaly or not, but this is the price of setting a strong load of damage.

I suppose that 8 part sov is the key to setup faster with expertise ;)

the more annoying part is shadow sting (debuff heal) that is too short ranged for the scout SW positionning. you can buff it with 5 part invader and also powerful draw tactic but it's a straight dps nerf.
But maybe not being able to setup heal debuff from long range is legit idk.. it's just it can get cleansed so easily so.. no cd on it to reapply but range is a bit too close imo.

This is just that scout SW dont have much survivability once you get closer (and the jumping WE), you can detaunt, kite, but once you get snared you are pretty done. There is m2 like focused mind to remove and prevent snares but it's m2 and compete directly with the new (insane) tactic : Ambush.

So yeah, scout is hard sometimes, but tbf it's the price of being able to dps from long range, also scout spec is fantastic during sieges, that's not the case of the aSW, less fun during siege and mass battles but better survivability in small scale.

anyway, everything has boons and cons, except op solo roaming RPs, but maybe the lack of fun is the against part x)

Gogo resorting to AI-gen insults. As lazy on the forum as in the game, where you relied on passive damage, absorbs and regen.

Orontes congratulating her on a reality check. The only reality check is that two low-skill players who can’t adapt have found each other on the forum. I guess you two have more luck here than on Tinder.
