I haven't played in the last 4 days. Once the weekend hits and I play again I'm sure to lose 75% of the scenarios and bring the rate back 50-50. Don't worry.

Destro is also the more populated realm. Which means there's a numerically larger group of newer players, casual player and so on in it. Which also means you are more likely to be in a scenario with them, as a destro player.

AoE Choppas

The new matchmaking system has significantly increased the number of guarded players in scenarios. When one side has permanent immunity and the other doesn't, it's going to cause an imbalance.

Order players may complain about the state of the Slayer, but at least it doesn't have an ability that can cause your faction to auto-lose scenarios.

Which tool is this?
I have been trying to get similar information from the killboard GraphQL but I have not had the time to get further into it.
I would say that it does align with my observation too.
Some numbers that you may want to look into as well are :
  • - backdate the numbers to the date the patch was released and then compare them to the week before, if possible, to estimate the impact of the patch
    - surrender rates are not accurate because matches that would qualify for a surrender actually end before the losing team is allowed to surrender.
    - the number of matches where the winning team has 100/200/300/400 points more than the losing team
    - which scenarios are more likely to have bigger score gaps, which may indicate that the scoring system for that match is not good (snowballing?)
    - the average RR difference between teams (this is something that I have tried to look into a lot as I think it is a strong driver of what you are observing)
    - the average kills per scenario and compare them to difference in average RR as the previous metric.
A more complex metric would be to generate some ELO value based on the gear of the participants, generate an average and compare it between the two teams, but it would probably require a lot of API calls and you may get throttled or flagged as malicious.

My experience is that most of the times there are only 2 choppas in the scenario, very often when I play on my choppa I am the only one.
You can check this yourself by checking the social window and seeing how many 40 choppas are online at any time.
It is usually way less than the other melee careers.
In scenarios there has been an increase in careers that either have a lot of armour (melee BO or Melee CH) or fight from the distance (shaman or magus), which means coordinating targets is extremely challenging.
Playing as a melee in these situation is extremely frustrating because ranged careers do not assist you, they do their things and if you want to assist them, you need to chase targets all over the place.
Without guard, that means dying all the time and having really bad damage score, so people will start pestering you.
Then if you have guard, you end up assisting the only other guy that is going melee, a tank.
You can guess how much damage ends being done.

Regarding the aoe choppas, many order classes are able to kite very effectively, even when on low health.
Using aoe is the only real way to keep hitting them when they run away since aoe attacks have greater range than most ST attacks.
Since AOE does little damage to single targets, the numbers are poor.
That is not the fault of AOE choppas, rather there is too much kiting from classes that also dish a ton of damage while running away.
Choppa has no real gap closer when you consider how fragile the class is.

In the end this is not a conversation for this thread, so i ll not add anything else to this.

Sorry my friend, but it only takes a single bad AoE Choppa to cause a loss.

The first engagement in any scenario is the most important as it sets the momentum for the rest of the scenario. Most scenarios are won or lost in that first engagement. The number of Choppas that will use the GtdC speed boost in the first engagement to run in and tag as many enemies as possible with a 1ft pull is far higher than the ones that don't. I've been watching it happen for years and purposefully look out for it now; if they do, I won't guard them.

If a Choppa joins a scenario in their AoE blob spec then they're better off dead as they'll do less harm. 2h is for scenarios, but that requires learning more than 3-button AoE blob play, which most (not saying you) are not willing to do.

Not saying there are not other factors such as 2h tanks and lack of assist to contend with as well, but Order suffers from those same issues too. AoE Choppas are a purely Desto problem that has no solution beyond hoping they die quickly before they cause too much disruption.

Ordinary the realm that win at orvr lose at scenarios and via versa.

It would be cool if there is info for kills count orders vs destro cos i am sure there the difference is less
Mostly harmless
