The feeling that actively managing combustion to yield 5-10% better damage / performance would have been an improvement to what we have. This would’ve added depth wo making the class niche or making it inaccessible for beginners

But I would argue thats already the case, no?
Some aoe bw can run full procs tactics based around Flames of Rhuin and Wildfire, and feel like the class in a pug 2-2-2 is just fine while he is channeling annihilate.
Meanwhile some other sweatlords are trying to minmax the Flashfire internal cooldowns to create burst windows.

With the suggestions i made, you could still just happily do Flamebreath and Annilihate and not play around Scored Earth
