Re: [PTS] Patch Notes 23/07/2026 - RDPS Patch and New Scenario Mechanic

Would love to see the rationale behind removing Sorc Shatter (m2 1200 dmg bomb) and keeping mirror m2 for BW. Are sorcs the only DPS class right now without damaging m2?

Removing sorcs m2 doesn't make WB play less morale-bombing-style-ish, especially if we keep one for BW, the only consequences i anticipate is sorcs are not going to get into end game WBs, since M2 + channels are the bread and butter of WB offense. From my POV, Sorcs also weren't better in terms of Killing Blows and Kill DMG compared to BW's. What's the point of having a sorc in the WB if they bring no utility and no m2?

Its really hard to comprehend the reasoning behind this particular m2 change.

Disappointed in Sorc changes overall. Gloom Of Night getting buffed in terms of cast speed changes nothing, in aoe play i doubt i would've used it even if it was instant since there is better options for on-the-move play like a tick of Pit Of Shades, Shadow Knives, Infernal Wave or Surging Pain. Black Horror is also meh, 1s cast time is good, but as i've said there plenty of instant cast aoe abilities and sorcs main weakness in WBs is low maneuverability. Cruel Reprisal needs testing, but conditional DPS is meh imo.

The population is so low to begin with that the PTR feedback could be very biased, and you will not do anything about it. You say you want to balance the game around group play; soon you will not have enough people to test your awesome changes. Everyone is burnt out from constant blobing
I agree. The PTR is just window dressing. I'm waiting for it to go live, and I'll check if I need to change gear, figure out new rotations and how I'll set up my keyboard as a result, and will do some sparring with the dummy in Altdorf... but in reality, there'll be very few online, so realistically getting some decent fights to test things is out of the question, or it'll be 1v1 fights and allegedly the team doesn't balance around it.

Therefore, I'm unsure what value the PTR brings. Just push the patch to live, and commit to doing frequent small balance patches now that all archetypes have had their big patches.

Shatter removal...

At first, I thought devs were trying to reduce the spike of morale bombing, which could be a wise thing to do. Then I saw BWs keep their mirror...

Why such a nerf to sorc then? Focused Mind by no means serves as an offensive M2, so yeh you cast cascade faster, cast shadow knives faster, and now you are left with your skills on cooldown so the cast speed meant nothing. Basicly sorcs have been nerfed for warband play, especially in comparison with BW which keeps its M2 bomb.

Are devs forcing playstyle difference between order and destro? Orders have slayers nerfed but BWs buffed while destro have choppa nerfed aswell, althogh they remain more relevant than slayer, but sorcs nerfed. I'm expecting more melee heavy groups in destro and more BW heavy groups in order.

Daily reminder that whatever you do in terms of class balance still ends up as mining salt hahaha :D

At first you like "Why you launch halfbaked stuff with no test!?"
But then you "What is the point in PTS?!"

- So after 11 pages of community mainly disagreeing you STILL go through with the Champions Mark direction. This is a new milestone of you focing pve down our throats and try to make it seem like its new content. Running Gunbad for Hard Mode champion marks, for gold and buying the +25talismans from gold on AH. is not new content... You heard the community, and you went through with it. This is strikedown point on the RoR timeline of where we can go back and look at when the PvE focus overtook.
Talismans were always obtained through PvE or bought. I don't see an issue with this. However, I see an issue with further nerfing armor talismans.

I am not a fan of these changes. I skipped Magus / Engi for now, but all SW nerfs seem not to be mirrored on SH. SH was stronger already beforehand and the changes to steady aim also affects fester (which is basically dead now? Another WoP? Really?). The armor changes should probably also be mirrored and a "role-fluid" specc is a pain to play and play with. Generally, SW will be a bad small scale class again.

Sorc could have used some AoE buffs and shatter being removed is basically the opposite of that.

There's nothing wrong with releasing an incomplete balance, provided you patch or update it promptly, and that is not the case here stuff has been broken for a year or more

Nobody questions the wisdom of releasing a patch on a PTS, if the game would have enough pop to make tests on PTS statistically significant.

Also, historically, feedback from PTS patch has been ignored, as most changes are hardcoded and take too long to unpick - hence the 6-10 month gap between archetype patches.

kikiprecko wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 10:47 am It's wild that Squigs did not get nerfed, running around in oRvR lakes outside peak hours, it's literally just Squigs, Shamans, Magus, and WE's. I know that Teefz (Squig main) is on the balance team, so it's very biased.
rorswar wrote: Fri Jul 24, 2026 10:49 am AOE and ST SW got nerfed much harder than SH (thanks Teefz, for being on the balance team!)
If you are trying to find a scapegoat to explain, why or where the boogeyman touched you in pvp, at least be right about it. Come on, you guys can do better.

You two geniuses can always rub your singular braincell together, maybe that will help.

In the 2026 Developer Roadmap post it is stated that:

"In the July patch, we’ll be tackling the final piece of the puzzle (refering to Itemization Updates), which is Armor Sets and end-game armor set bonuses."

Despite that these were not announced in the patch (probably because of the huge text size it would require), is it possible to see them in the vendors in the test server or there was no update for those at all in July?

Interesting changes.
Magus/Engi now seem like much less stationary classes. I hope to finally see more of them in small-scale battles.

SH/SW—if the announcements hold true, melee will get a buff (good).
Op skirmish nerf (good)!!
Scout change (interesting).

Thank you, finally, for the changes to WE/WH!!
It looks like the MDPS rework is done.
