Stuck at character creation

I think I've read all the tips and done my installation right,if I missed something,please bear with me.

I have downloaded,installed and registered an account as to the description on this page.
I can log in to the game,some files are updated,
and I am taken to the character creation page,which only shows the background,and a square black box on the right side which holds no information.
I have access to the trailer and settings.
There is music playing,but no character creation loads at all.
What have I missed please?
( Program is allowed through firewall.Windows 10,64-bit)

maybe check launcher window, click on the cogwheel and check if you have it set to production and not test. Could be that you entered test server. There you can only create chars when the test server is open for testing.

Thanks for the input Gunlinger,
I have made sure I selected the production option.
Still no characters appear for me to select.
Only the background and music.

Make sure you have DirectX 9.0c installed.
