Hello,
This is more of a question for the RoR-team, but I'd be happy to hear if any other players have any input aswel.
Where exactly is the game headed. If I losely quote one of the previous QnA sessions with the devs, they then mentioned how the two RoR additions of the Dwarf and Greenskin capitals would maybe eventually become besiegeable just like we have IC & Altdorf. Is this still a real goal?
Same kinda question for previous comments about Sovereign being the absolute highest set of gear, are we still sticking with that plan? Not that I think the RR 90 sets did anything good for Live servers on AoR. But if we historically look at RoR then back in the T1, T2, T3 gameplay loop of RoR up untill Forts were added, then we did kinda have the same Campaign stalemate situations as we do currently. Zones would lock, but mostly players roamed for progression and kills and the realmpride and campaign drive was lower, just like it is atm.
Then when Fortresses with Invader was introduced to RoR, a big spike in interest for pushing campaign getting Fort fights + loot.
And same situation as 2020 brough Citysieges and Sovereign ward sets.
So now that we are in a valley again, hopefully inbetween peaks. Are there any word from the Devs about future direction of the game. Will we see the RoR-cities being siegeable, will there be new gear to chase as BiS, will something be done in a different way to the Campaign gameloop. Basicly I am asking where are we headed in the future, are there any plans to tie LOTD world boss colosus into realm-pushes, and can this be done without a BiS gear incentive?
RoR in its foundation is amazing, the largescale is unmatched on the MMO market, and the longevity of RoR is admireable! But is there a vision of where to go from here, just like there was back in Conq era into Invader era which revived and gave purpose to RvR and the Campaign.

Re: Question about the game direction
Main direction is to nerf Slayer, followed by several more nerfs to Slayer, some light PvE, and then some nerfs to Slayer.
Brynnoth Goldenbeard (40/80) (IB) -- Rundin Fireheart (40/50) (RP) -- Ungrinn (40/40) (Engi)-- Bramm Bloodaxe (40/83) (Slayer) and a few Empire characters here or there, maybe even an elf.
Re: Question about the game direction
Why focus on new if old wont work properly?
Game provide such pvp directions as:
1.RvR - blobing still unsolved, they took rigth direction but rr buff isnt enough to spread wb equally over map. New crowns actually mostly instrument of blob creating (i was witness how it work when Brodda put one), and sadly step back.
2 SC - near dead, i have huge hopes on rework that they give us for test drive.
3 Ranked - completely dead
4 City siege - dead
5 Lotd - alive, prob due to subconscious desires of our comunity to blob, and it provide backcaping for smallscalers.
6. Smallscale roam (yes it exist) - in huge fever tnx to very controversial class balance changes and lack of comunication between players and devs.
So again, why create new problems when we have huge pile of old unsloved ones? I pref all existing contend working and shining, and only then create new one. Atm main problem for me that game very rarely creating interesting pvp situations (unbalanced sc, geargap, premades abusing soles, no mmr in city etc), and if it not happen then i dont care which gear on me. All is want is fun, and its for sure not in grind of another 1000000000000 crest for warpforged on all toons.

This is also taking a huge hit with the recent WE/WH buffs.Sever1n wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 4:54 am 6. Smallscale roam (yes it exist) - in huge fever tnx to very controversial class balance changes and lack of comunication between players and devs.

Re: Question about the game direction
Honestly, I think the only real sustainable end-game is fashionhammer, and I mean one that is not once-per-year-event based. Maybe adding jewels with procs would also be fun. In general I'd like to see more variety of builds in the game and more playstyles allowed. I liked the idea from live, that classes had access to slightly heavier armors, which were in return reducing the movement speed. Why not to have a Knight with 2h halberd? Why not to give him +10% dmg bonus, +5ft range and take away AA and reduce dodge in return? Or DW engineer with hammers: bonus to tinkerer skills, disables rifle skills. If the game is fun and allows creativity, then people will stick with it.
PS. Don't take the above examples literally, it's just to show the idea, not a real proposal.

Re: Question about the game direction
Looks like game direction is PvE, because there are people too eager to implement it and it's done in LUA outside of main source code. Looks like Max is too busy with regular job and there are no other volunteers which good in C# and trustworthy to let them see source code.
