NEW player lf help with class

Hello everyone, never played warhammer online, but always wanted to. I heard that you could level up in this game only with pvp activities. But anywaysm thats not the matter.
Struggling with class. I really love orcs, what the vets of this game could suggest me to play? Heard about 2h black orc, but I know its a tank so not sure about it. How is choppa feeling in this game?

I don't play choppa personally. I tried it, but didn't really enjoy how it played.

The main thing about choppa is that is requires a lot of support to get the most out of it. The mechanic it has means that to do maximum damage, you become extremely squishy. So, you need a tank to guard you, and a healer to keep you up. IF you have them, then it can be awesome. Choppas are the AoE melee specialist, but in their 2h spec they can also do some pretty decent single target damage too.

But, coz im mostly solo or small scale, I rarely had that support, so I found choppa too frustrating to play.

Black Orc....I love it! They are the most tanky of the tanks, by which i mean they can get their avoidances to the highest levels and are the hardest to kill when snb. Chosen has better utility but BO isn't too far behind. If you go snb, you will always be welcome in groups and dungeons. But, you don't wanna solo when snb. Your damage is too low to actually kill anything. Like, if a white lion or witch hunter jump you, you can shrug off their damage so easily, they wont kill you......but with ur damage so low, they can just run away as soon as it looks like they might lose.

2h BO is how I usually play, its much better for solo and small scale. Damage output can get pretty high, your armor mitigation is still maxed, and you can stack parry really high too.

However, you're not really a tank anymore, and its very gear dependent. You lose a ton of utility in 2h. You lose a ton of survivability. In any sort of large scale fight, you just can't do your job as a tank. In small scale, thats less of an issue and 2h is much more viable. But the gear dependency is a problem. You're basically ineffective until you're in the best gear.

If you're new to the game, I usually recommend playing a tank first. That survivability gives you a lot of extra time to see how the game works, how the ebb and flow of battles works. The core mechanic of playing a tank - guarding and protecting your team - is relatively easy. I know some players get nervous about tanking because it's a critical role, but in WAR all roles are critical! PvE tanking is also extremely easy in this game, and something u won't really need to do until you're level 40 anyway.
