the one and only question is: why does the WE have still one more coreskill: shadow leap? 13 vs 12 coreskills?

some interesting changes overall, for many classes. for now, i'll only comment on WH since it is where most of my experience comes in.

General

accusations to 30 seconds - great change, good QoL.

relics no longer share a cooldown - great change, and good idea to keep it at one active per time.

Abilities

feinted positioning affecting snap shot again - good for soloing.

dragon gun - fine, just rescaling, should even out to be similar.

seal of destruction - a fair nerf to it, considering it is moved in to a more utilized tree. i don't hate the change. pairing charge on to it is very strange though. why not just give us baseline charge and reduced stealth duration a bit in compensation.

excomm - i'm an excomm enjoyer, so this nerf hurts a bit, but it probably had it coming.

exit wound - buffed(?), if so that's great as this ability needed help.

shroud of magnus - huge nerf for some solo builds, rightfully so in all honesty. complete immunity to abilities, including some morales, was a bit strong.

sanctified oil - removing charge from it was a good idea, but as aforementioned the charge should have been re-added somewhere besides seal of destruction. extra stealth time is nice.

razor strike - changed to a cleave ability, this is good. torment is a better and more utilized ST generator anyway.

trial by pain - a much needed buff to this skill. double projectile speed should make it nearly instant and more scaling on the top end is healthy as it was doing fairly low damage in previous patch.

blessed bullets of cleansing - swapped tree, fine, more thematic.

confess - okay.

incendiary shot - fantastic skill, i really like this one. for a long time we needed some kind of ranged generator/ranged boost for those kiting or being kited situations.

burn heretic - not sure what to say about this exactly. damage seems alright but we didn't really need an aoe dot. it's a bit of fluff damage for high investment.

absolution - rescaling, fine.

torment - available at lvl 1 good.

fanatical zeal - really interesting change here, good for bursting in solo or maybe group comps which lack arcing swing tactic, will have to see how it pans out.

declare anathema - available earlier, sure why not.

purgatory - available at 40, okay. not sure why, but doesn't change anything.

Tactics

sanctified bullets - rip aoe leeching with DG. bad tactic either way unless you are playing a regen solo build.

protection from heresy - hideous tactic becomes even more hideous, appreciate trying to change it but please keep regen away from the game.

blessed ammunition - it's cool, but i don't see it being usable.

last rites - removed, it was bad anyway.

full confession - still a bad tactic, but great that it is removed from a tree to free up the spot.

atonement - gigantic buff to BAL builds which were already strong. kind of wild to see this, but i'm here for it.

vitriolic judgement - moved but still useless.

unyielding conviction - cool idea but won't be used.

fanatical cleansing - made baseline, one of the best changes of all of these. great QoL.

sweeping razor - razor strike returned to 24 target. helps a lot with aoe builds. decent idea.

vindication - nerfed by 10%, it was very strong before in aoe builds so this makes sense.

encourage confession - it's a fine buff, but this tactic isn't used much.

blood, faith, and fire - still useless.




tl;dr section

fanatical cleansing baseline and ranged generator are S tier changes.

not sure the WH aoe changes are going to do much to make it more viable. maybe just make it easier for newer/lower skilled players to play it in pug warbands.

giving WH flurry-type tactic for razor strike is a step in the right direction. the aoe dot finisher seems pretty useless with how fast fights are, better off using DG still. adding flurry and an aoe dot doesn't fix the inherent issues with the class' aoe and performance capabilities beyond pug skill level. most importantly, the class is still still lacking an aoe channel, which is a mandatory attribute to make any melee dps truly viable in aoe situations.

the WH ST changes are welcomed, not the worst. would've liked to see something done with exit wound, rather than turbo buffing BAL tree when it was already the strongest in most situations.


thanks as always to the devs for their continued support of this game that we all love and enjoy. look forward to seeing what comes next.

More than one person in this thread has crossed the line from criticism of the changes to criticism of the devs.

If you have issues with specific changes, please talk about those changes, and why it's an issue. We will continue to take action on people who criticize the devs directly. No one is good at balance, I have some personal experience in this. Devs are making changes in a deeply complex system. What might be painfully obvious to you could have been watered down in a committee of feedback. It could just be an error in a list of hundreds of small changes that can be tweaked. If you are not specific, that makes it a lot harder to understand.

You won't get better balance by attacking people when you should be attacking changes. All that gets you is a visit from one of us, and we're not trying to stifle your feedback, just the abusive side of it.

- Elixir of the Cauldron - Moved to 5 pt in Path of Suffering. Immunity to magical abilities changed to a 100% damage reduction from magical damage.

WH

- Shroud of Magnus - Moved to 5 points in Path of Inquisition. Immunity to magical abilities changed to a 100% damage reduction from magical damage.

From my understanding, this should give casters the ability to still CC the WH/WE. For example disarm, but it just disrupts. Tooltip is also different than what you've wrote here. Can you clarify this please? Thank you.

Some good things for the Slayer, apart from the completely unjustified ST nerf.
Or maybe I just didn’t understand it.

Choppa 25% aa dmg seems nice with pretty much perma uptime. ST choppas will love it. However on slayer side the 25% arpen on exhaust skills seems pretty meh in comparison.

This makes no sense at all. You either want to activate the seal to deal more damage, or you want to use the charge to close the gap or disengage. But you cannot do both, because using any ability immediately cancels the charge. These are two contradictory effects that do not complement each other in any way. The charge should either be a core mechanic or belong to a different ability where it would actually make sense.

Nevertheless, great praise to you for continuing to support the game. That is by no means something that can be taken for granted.

If it reads correctly, it also gives a slight extension to its use in that it reduces all magical damage by 100% instead of just disrupting... that should affect any melee or ranged attack that deal magic damage like Chosen/SM spirit damage, SW/SH Festering/Rotten, WE/WH Brew Kisses/Bullets, etc.

Not necessarily better, but more uses.
