ill start by saying im a RR83 Ironbreaker. (2H build sometimes)
I'm seeing a big trend in the same builds that solo chosen are choosing which says to me is the meta and also the ultimate build. Full regen with grimshimmer.
Upon looking at the killboard it is always the same abilities doing the most dmg: Relentless, Dreadful agony, Backlash.
This is this clearly a build that cannot be beaten melee. Dreadful agony is dealing free damage as well as backlash. all the the player has to do is spec defensive and the fight is won. every single chosen I come across solo is using this build because clearly they know they cannot be beaten is the best build.
Regen needs a serious rework. I too use regen Items (fleshrender etc). its clear that Regen is more stronger on other classes than others. There needs to be either less regen or Healing debuff also works with regen. Now I do have a lot of time for solo classes, but its becoming boring seeing the same classes stacking the same build.
Ill finish by saying Chosen are 'One Button Heroes'
Thank you
Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
I have focused offense chosen video coming out this week to show that it can be played otherwise aswell.
*I am not saying its better than regen by any means but its fun and does alot of dmg
Then again while I think regen should likely be reworked (make hd affect it atleast). For tanks especially it kinda is the way to build. My chosen build for example will just pretty much insta lose to a rdps who knows how to kite.
Lastly, this is again pretty much a solo issue so likely doesn't actually deserve much attention :/

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
Regen is only useful for classes who can deal damage passively / without the need of high main dmg stats. That's why it works with WEs (thanks to witchbrew), on Ironbreakers (Oathstone), on Chosens / KoTBS (dmg auras, the difference between the 2 is KoTBS can't reach 100% parry for free). Regen is an utterly broken stat that did not exist on live, and breaks the balance of small scale / dueling because it's basically down to a simple stat check : can you outdps the regen vs a heavily defensive class. Most of the time, the answer is no and that's why there is so many people in these class speccing for it. It's currently the easy way to solo roam.
Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
totally agree with both of you. I understand that regen is kind of required for solo play. but not the the extent where you can outheal the damage being dealt to you. that is the issue. Because I know for a fact i use a sequence of abilities that should hinder the opponent just like he would be using abilities that would hinder me. Of course parry and block will make a difference which is fine but regen should not have a bigger impact than parry and block.
Ill give an example of myself fighting a blackguard that also has regen like myself. it was a very good fight. I had the higher crit chance where he had the higher parry. I can tell you the fight went over for over 2 mins. but it came down to our abilities and how we used them which would determine the outcome. not just a aura or tactic.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
Unfortunately in solo melee play regen and full def builds are the way to go as they are pretty broken on some classes. Some classes can muster up 800/4 regen and may have other meanings of healing or absorb while maintaining 60% or more parry and still doing ok damage. Especially classes that have high passive non physical damage like chosen, WE. However classes like mara who have lots of def tools and lot of armor reduction are also really strong. However chosen is definitely the easiest to play for sure.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
I've been complaining about it for over a year at this point. Theoretically equipping regen handicaps your other stats since regen items / tactics are generally less stats or value .. if it wasn't for the fact that it harmonizes perfectly with defensive builds and since you eventually run out of AP or cooldowns you basically auto-lose against regen in a longer fight .. unless you're regen yourself. Chosen, WE and even SM have the privilege of having to only focus on one dmg stat (strength, can ignore WS) which means the rest can comfortable be put into regen+defensives which essentially leads to a class that's incredibly hard to kill solo while also, ironically, dealing considerable damage. I honestly don't even know what could be done at this point, WE already had WB dmg reduced while STR scaling increased but since most are running high STR anyway there wasn't a considerable change. One change could certainly be to remove the silly bubble(s) because they have absolutely no place on a stealth class. Chosen could get the same treatment but their dmg isn't really the issue but rather the fact that the entire class is nothing but a statcheck and is so overloaded as well as reliant on stats that any change might make them too squishy for large scale. Don't even get me started on SM (saying as a SM solo player myself), the entire class is a mess with its highly overtuned damage and multiple procc effects which all stack together.
Personally I think regen has a place in the game simply because it's unbelievably frustrating to have someone put 3 dots on you and you ticking down to death from those, regen counters that and gives you time to actually fight. However, in any other scenario it's simply overtuned if stacked and often times creates this auto-lose situation which is neither engaging nor fun. The only advice I can give is the same I mentioned often before: if you notice your opponent is running a boring regen build simply disengage and don't even bother wasting your time. But watch out, the regen mafia will tell you that it's completely fine and it's a skill issue on your end if you can't kill them.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
If you nerf regen, you will buff dps healers, rDPS and WH/WE*.
*While their regen builds will be less potent (especially WE), their burst builds will be become much better vs rest of the playing field as outlasting them won't be that "easy" anymore.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
How do their burst builds become better to as they are now by nerfing regen? You will probably see much more very offensive WE/WH running around but they will also be way easier to kill.M0rw47h wrote: Wed Dec 10, 2025 3:50 pm If you nerf regen, you will buff dps healers, rDPS and WH/WE*.

Re: Seeing a big Trend with Solo Regen Chosen.
I stopped playing solo on my Chosen cause its really boring with regen even without regen is super strong with parry stacking.
Now Blackguards on the other hands needs a buff.
