Because of whole point of the topic is healers being boring to play. I suggest trying hard-to-position healers for more engaging experience. Shaman doesn't have to run his defensive tactics and even shouldn't do that. Why would you need to spend a tactic slot which helps you position while you play vs faction, that forgives mispositioning? It's either you running away vs permaslowed order blob (which can be done without any tactic help) or you getting WL pounced on your head (which might result in you dying regardless of your tactic choice, depends on situation).

It's just nice to have an option as a healer to slot one of the best defensive tactics in the game on a faction, that doesn't really struggle with positioning, that's all I am saying. Since AM doesn't have that option and has to play vs destro CC, I suggest OP to try it. He can always reroll different side or quit healing altogether. Sometimes people just don't enjoy certain roles and that's ok

I can relate, that’s why i used to play only shield spec heals, and skipped other heal specs.
Focusing on party health bars is just not interesting for me, and now I enjoy playing tanks as a support role.

Yup yup, I agree. Playing healer has always been on the low end of the mmo engagement scale. I've been saddled with it from gw1 to rift swtor daoc lol everything else because no one wants to do it. But healers in this game are pretty fun because they are so strong. It's just that spamming HoT and group heal is not particularly compelling gameplay.

That's why currently I find the RP/Zealot to be more fun. If you have another sweaty healer in your group or scen. that gives you flexibility to swing around to the side, swap your rune and stagger/silence. You cripple your counterparts, and even without a coordinated guard punt you can get a kill.

For AM/Shaman about all you have other than healing is puddle, ap draining rdps, and trolling mdps. Have it your way, baby.
