Hello,
Mostly as a side-topic from Onlymelee's excelent forum feedback (which generally shouldnt create too much debate as its a feedback post)
I didnt want to derail it so making a more open debate topic.
Live Warhammer didnt have a single queue scenario option, this was added to RoR in an attempt to create more "action on demand" for those that dont have social members online to queue with, or those that are simply not in the mood for being social at the moment.
Over the years Discordant saw some changes, it was chasnged to a duo queue so a dps could go in with a tank or healer. or whatever duo composition you were interrested in queueing with. This was sort of abused by the community and six players would split in three duo teams and queue 3-2-1 and take the same pop due to lower population and not many discordants running at once it was fairly easy to rig the system.
But the overall attitude towards being a single player, and not by defaul only queuing for the Discordant now that it is actually "solo queue" has always bugged me. Yes you will not get the extra exp/rp gain from weekend warfront kills and end rewards. And you will miss out on getting those Soulstones, gold, or crests, or the eventslot item. But all of these rewards can be optained from pve dungeon/rvr weekly etc. So if solo players actually wanted a soloqueue healthy activation rate, they should stop queueing for "all" or the weekend warfront and instead queue only for discordant.
This culture and mindset has been spiraling to a point where it would take some serious effort to create "discordant" specific days and drill it over time to recreate the mindset of "if you are a single player, queue for the solo scenario" But is it too late you think?
(Before we get into the arguments of rolling the dice of weekend warfront being faster progression, yes it is if you are winning and you end up getting a premade to carry you. But at that point you place your faith in luck and this could be some of the rootcause to why the overall surrender mentality is so festering for a long time on RoR now)
Is it too late to change the Discordant soloQ mindset?

Re: Is it too late to change the Discordant soloQ mindset?
At the start the problem were the name of rhe mode itself. There are plenty of non english speaking ppl and discordant doesnt ring a bell right away what it is all about that mode. Later the byproduct was the long wait time. Ppl prefer to roll the dice and hope the premade to be on their side instead wating 20 mins in queue.
Personally i would like to see change at queu system. When solo player press queu all he should be put for a min only at solo queu scen, after that 1 min if there is not enough solo players to run solo scen then the system move solo player to all maps queu

What is needed:
1. Fixing 3vs5 pops
2. Fixing no heals pop
3. Solo version of event sc or alternative route in quest. Making discordant sc event in journal to make sure people will que it.
4. Separate 6man from solo pugs completely, maybe by making one big 24 man sc for weekend for big masacre with increased rewards and prior 6 man there + adding pug 2/2/2.
Mentality of comunity will not change, it will only get worce with time. The main problem is that we have zero feedback from devs and cant even understand if they acknowledge problem. Over the years there was a ton of good ideas but if devs not interested its just waste of time.
Till fixes will not be done pugs will keep hiting the brickwall on "events" with their heads till no tommorow for that cursed 25 crest and medal.
Game should provide clear places for solos, 6mans, and guilds to have fun.
Would be great if they make it like
Discordants for solos, soloranked for solos
Ranked for 6 mans/12mans
City for 12/24man.
And RvR for unholy blobing

Re: Is it too late to change the Discordant soloQ mindset?
So I should be punished for my chosen pvp playmode? Why is solo so bad for the game that we should be so obsessively punished? I should stop playing and accept no rewards because? I need to waste my time in PvE a playmode I have no interest in because I should be punished for queuing discordants? I'm old enough to remember when the blob was heavily look down upon and now its considered the only way to play?wonshot wrote: Thu Aug 21, 2025 2:42 am But the overall attitude towards being a single player, and not by defaul only queuing for the Discordant now that it is actually "solo queue" has always bugged me. Totally agree with OP here, everyone constantly complaining about scenarios yet none of these players are queuing for discordant only or trying to make a group from /5 for some reason, dont get me wrong I am also complaining about scenarios but mostly because matchmaker catering to parties not because there are no solo queue

Re: Is it too late to change the Discordant soloQ mindset?
I was actually really hyped when I saw the Discordant solo queue after coming back - but it rarely pops and when it pops it half of the time 3vs5 because the people who queued up an hour ago basically forgot they are in queue:
If they add the weekly warfront and rename it to something clear like solo queue it might work.
