A couple of n00b questions:
What conditions are grouped together for immunity?
For example, I think root and snare are one "group."
Are knockdown and disabled another?
What else?
How long do immunities last? Is it uniform among the types?

Stun, Silence, and Disarm all share an immunity. Root and Knockback share the other. So as a tank for example, you can KD and punt a target; but you cannot root and punt a target.

Here is a Buffhead list i’d recommend, it should contain about every significant ability you need to see: viewtopic.php?t=17466
If you disable Hostile debuffs in your Buffhead options, you will only see abilities from the list.
Downside is you will not see things like DoTs in your Buffhead tracker, although you can still see them near you default UI health bar (for custom ones i suggest Pure addon).
Upside is that whatever shows up on your Buffhead tracker will be a significant ability, and if you are unsure what they do, you can always look it up in the builder : https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/
Perhaps it’s not the most convenient, but it is what i can offer.

In addition, staggers also share the same immunity with stun, silence and disarm. That immunity is called unstoppable. Pulls share an immunity with roots and knockbacks, called immovable.
