Tanks and how they hold up

I'm mostly just curious how each tank holds up across all six these days? I'm looking to get back into this.. but it's been a very long time and so I'm wanting to restart from scratch.

Not really looking for a "Play this cause it's broken" response, which I got. (Everyone told me to play Destro or nothing.) More just curious how each tank feels and holds up in both PvE and PvP. Let me know, thank you!

Every tank holds up, they are all fairly balanced in survivability, somewhat balanced in terms of damage output. The measure of a tank is how much utility they provide. Different tanks bring different buffs and debuffs, etc.

I've got fresh KotBs recenty and it's holding up very well. Till lvl 10 I've got top kills and top protection in SCs most of the time.
Lets see what is after 10 8-)

I'm an altoholic, pug player, and have fun on all the tank specs.

Have seen some Knights outdo everyone in kills at 40 in sc.

I think player matters more than career and SnB or 2H.

Go Black Orc.

They're the greenest, and that's all that matters :-)

Yep i think i can confirm all 6 are decent and viable with various styles.

I can think of one who maybe needs some tweaks but still mostly solid.

I see, I mained a Black Ork awhile back and it was good times and at least at that point kind of overwhelming it seemed, lol. I welcome any other opinions, it is nice to hear that all six seem to be doing well.. the conversations in Advice Chat and General were just "Destro best, play chosen lolol." Which uh.. got old.

"somewhat balanced in terms of damage output" they are absolutely not balanced in terms of dmg output or potential, different tanks cannot output similar dmg even if they specced for it or sacrificed all their utility

Haha well I do agree that Tank damage output isn't balanced, but Tank damage isn't a huge factor normally with how the game is played in group content.

I hate how tanks are shoe horned into guard bots. 2h specs should be like true dps. along with tank tree being tanky and utility tree being utility. Being able to spec into 1.5 out of the three specs seems fair.
