No "new content" option? Theme park games like RoR need a constant stream of new content to keep the interest. Doing the same thing in the same locations over and over quickly gets stall.
I understand that devs have limited resources, but they could turn to the community for help. Like, make a contest for a new character, castle, location model. Then choose the best.

Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
Imho RoR Team is lacking a good leadership, to focus on goals (phases) and not scratching here and there.
Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
I believe that the most urgent and relatively easy issue to address is scenario matchmaking.
Scenarios are a core element of RoR. If we continue to let unbalanced scenarios persist—where solo queue players are matched against premades as a rule — we driving away new and returning players. If the fundamental issues that plagued the game 5+ years ago remain unresolved, it’s unlikely we’ll see an increase in player population.
Using the analogy from the series "Snowpiercer," no one wants to be a tailie misled by Melanie, Wilford, or Layton. Players need to be taken more seriously.
Hundreds of forum pages highlight the need for change, yet the direction of RoR development seems to diverge from these concerns. It’s essential to address this issue to ensure a more balanced and enjoyable experience for everyone, to keep people interested in it.

Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
Just very shortly said. If you asked this question prior to the patch where the ability reworking system was implemented it would have been RVR System and Scenario matchmaking. But now - with the classes being even more imbalanced than it has ever been in the history of RoR - I am not sure what to pick.

As much as would like to see lost vale and tovl I agree with Phantasm about sc matchmaking. I think current ranked system could be somehow implemented for normal scs.

Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
I agree with you. However, we’re currently in the midst of a "balancing phase"—and not even halfway through it. Tanks have been addressed, healers are still being worked on (with recent changes to Zealot and Runepriest), and the most challenging part will be balancing melee DPS against ranged DPS and casters. I don’t envy the developers trying to tackle this without upsetting the general population, which has grown accustomed to dominant tactics like Rampage, Morale dumps, and blob formations. These new balance changes will require players to adapt to a playstyle different from what has been prevalent over the past years, which is why recent discussions about rings and WS changes are so contentiousAluviya wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 12:21 pm Just very shortly said. Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
Personal request, I would love to see more equipment options. Currently equipment is too tiered- from one hand, sov/triumph has too much raw power advantage compared to most other options. From other hand, lot of non meta specs don't have any equipment options- for example, lot of classes have dominator or so as a highest maintat + toughness set.
Would love more alt equipment options like ch22 set, or t2 epic quest shoulders, and high non meta spec sets. Possibly partial sets like beastlord one (no boots etc), to try and make an interesting combinations.

Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
Good question. Too bad no one else ever thought to ask it, say, in an open to all format like maybe a Podcast or something where the issues could be addressed and discussed and then packaged into video format for open viewing and additional commentary on, I don't know, some format like Youtube.
Oh, wait...

Re: Gamedirection & targetaudience
Bombling tends to have a level-headed view and presentation on thigs, so reading in his post about the exodus of RvR players and guilds is... disheartening.
Generally after class changes it takes a while until new metas are built and people learn how to work around said changes. Now i'm wondering if this isn't all too much too fast for a community this small and with almost zero intake of new players.
