Re: Appeal for banned people.
I might be coming from the other end of the spectrum.
But the rules seem pretty fair, dont be a douce, play the game fairly, report if you find anything gamebreaking and kill eachother ingame.
If someone fails to follow those rules, they get reported and to my understanding there is an escalation system where you mutes, bans, quitter gets longer the more you misbehave. So do we really need to bring back people who failed several strikes of bad behaviour, A perma ban is perma right? For a reason. They crossed the line, had their chances.
I would assume that the escalation steps would serve plenty of chances. Othervice what signal does it send, ah sure you got permabanned but here come have at it again.

Absolutely right!
Perma ban should be forever and ever!

Re: Appeal for banned people.
People banned for getting unallowed advantage knew what they were doing and did it anyways, no recovery for them!
People banned for some risky words, consider if there is a chance of recovery.
People banned for misanthropic speach, leave this scum out!

Rules are fair and easy to follow. Agreed. No argue there. Most of us follow them easy. But we are humans all. Some could have really bad day, week, month. Some lash out. GMs have the chat log. so i don't see any reason why people with not an egregious chat log cannot get a 2nd try.wonshot wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 12:43 am I might be coming from the other end of the spectrum.

To be fair i regret even opening this post cause i don't really care. Its their game and they can do what they want. But why even have the survey then?
Re: Appeal for banned people.
From what I know, warnings and temporary bans get counted and at some point the next ban is permanent. For me, this system is OK-ish.
I've always been wondering if such counters fade with time. It would be illogical to permanently ban someone who crossed the line once every 3 years, the player clearly had some temporary issues. At least, I know that GMs speak with the person before the sanction but I don't know if they listen to her/him.
PS : no mercy for cheaters and exploiters !

Re: Appeal for banned people.
Hi, i used to play a game way back in like 2010 and people got perma banned on their serrvers too. Heck even i was banned from a server. But after about 6 months i tried that same server again and i was unbanned and i could play. I would say that i personally learned my lesson and played much more respectfully after that. I believe the people should be unbanned. And if they do bad things again then just ban them againAstroice wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 12:11 amRules are fair and easy to follow. Agreed. No argue there. Re: Appeal for banned people.
Are people getting IP banned or getting insta banned as soon as it's clear a person made a 2nd account? Or do people simply get their account banned? Or are thre differences?
Because as i see it if you cheat once or repeatedly offend others an account ban is deserved. But i think creating a fresh account and starting from scratch should be allowed.
Even though in the end it comes down to "You reap what you sow".

Re: Appeal for banned people.
There are instances where a new account is allowed, but these are not typical for the majority of permanent bans. Our detection methods vary. The most reliable one is simply that people who break the rules typically continue to break the rules, and people who know them usually let us know they're doing it. The backdoor is always a little open due to the nature of free accounts, but people who successfully play that way are so under the radar they're no longer a problem. It only takes the smallest investigation to figure out they've been perm'd before.Templa wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:08 pm Are people getting IP banned or getting insta banned as soon as it's clear a person made a 2nd account? Re: Appeal for banned people.
i dont believe cheaters and people whove been harassing others systematically (and outside of the game itself) deserve a second chance tbh. for the rest, sure. the chat rules should more lenient though, especially for what could be considered banter, even when vulgar/offensive. its a comp pvp game after all.
