When I ran a WoW server years ago, I had tons of incidents with exploiters. But I watched them and learned what they did before I banned them as to fix the problem that lays before. Knowledge is a lot more powerful then the mighty hammer sometimes. Did me allow them to exploit to give me knowledge affect my server? It absolutely did, I was able to remove the mobs, fix loot tables for broken mobs, and so on.

Creating a new account is a dime in a dozen, but squashing a bug/exploit is priceless.

Jaycub wrote:The RS Str/WS rings are definitely duped, unless they are the only RS rings in the loot table. Aside from the 4 that where in the armory posted in the original witch hunt, there is your 3, and a lot I have seen just scattered around on players and being spammed for trade in /ad.

They probably weren't deliberately duped, but still failure to report can get you into trouble. I'm sure a lot of people don't know how rare runescribed is and probably didn't think twice about it, but after that thread was posted about the guy with 4 most of us wouldn't of bought one of those rings if people were selling for 5 gold ea.

The best thing that could happen is just to have all the rings wiped, and if the original exploiter/duper is found to ban him.

Per Jaycub, the chance of even 3 of those rings existing in the game at all is so incredibly low as to be worthy of making a report. I just don't understand people sometimes. Just because you didn't dupe it yourself doesn't mean that the entire situation doesn't stink.

I dont see the item wipes as an option to get rid of dupping. Only way to get rid off dupping(or cut it to minimum) is adding adequate gear/jewelry/wepons from wendors.
(lets be honest rvr weapons are good, but RS weapons are better)
Who would bother about dupping if he can buy it regular way thru rvr or scen currency by participating in PvP.

Issue is that itemization at this moment has more common with lotery and only lucky ones are blessed with RS gear.
People who participate in PvP a lot more can never see any of those gear, beacause they are not blessed by RNG god inlucidng winning roll!

A bunch of SOD guys vouching for an SOD member. That's credible beyond reproach in my book.

Best gear should be available from RvR. Anything from PvE should be lesser or equivalent (maybe) of RvR gear. And make the PVE gear harder to get. Problem solved.

Agreed, with the caveat that if it is possible (now or in the future) to dupe any of that gear (or the tokens themselves) then duping will still be an issue -- i.e. if you can buy 1 weapon and dupe your 2nd, or buy a ring and dupe 3 more ... you see what I mean. Probably an improvement, still not totally fixed.

Personally, I think it is important (even this early on) to have systems in place to programmatically assist in detecting duping, but I understand that the RoR team does not have infinite bandwidth, and that even if this were given the priority I think it deserves, there are higher priority tasks still. I'd like to see something done on this front at some point though.

Many are players running with full blue and purple and many off them are bad players so the stuff dont make stronger if you cant play properly ! But yes players were banned for dupe and other cheat so Devs need to make investigation !

its all about jealousy , ather have better gear than u have. some ppl have only 1 toon so its prety much with some luck u have better gear than those who have 24 toons. in destryction side i seen also ppl with purple gear, tein...a for example. or some ather dok or shaman or am , why we dont call all ppl duppers who have better gear than u have.
If u are dupper u newer wear your own duped gear u will use global chat to trade it for usefull gear. both side global chats is full of trade offerings. need ban almost all server than
"give wh and witch propper aoe like evrywone has it!"

And there could lay a problem, I have seen a lot of trade messages with players selling enormous amounts of woe & rs gear. I never thought much about it until I got sucked into the forums.

To me a player selling 20 different blues/purples is a lot more suspicious then a player wearing a few of the pieces. I don't care much at all about items. But I do care about the servers health, exploits and bugs are terrible for the health of a server, so put all the jealousy and humanity crap aside.

If you see someone selling dozens upon dozens of Woe & RS gear, I don't think it would be a bad idea to take their name and make a note and report it to the right people. I don't want to give the impressions to report everyone trading but when a level 1 is trading a lot of the BiS gear, something real fishy is going on.

On a positive note, I finally got to see a blue item drop and surprisingly enough I won the roll. So that is almost four weeks for me to finally see a better item then a green drop.
