Help: Choose Class

Hello everyone,

I've been new to RoR for two days and have started with the Squig Herder. Since I'm still very new and don't know what will be fun and effective in PvP, I wanted to get in touch with you.

I am currently interested in the following classes:
- Squig Herder
- Shaman
- Witch eleven
- Witch hunter

Which classes would you recommend and why?
Purely in terms of looks and class fantasy, I think the witch hunter is good.
Please don't ask me what I want to play in the future. Solo, in groups and what role. I just don't know RoR for that.
I like classes that I can handle on my own, but can also play in groups.

Many thanks in advance.

Squig herder - as a range dps it’s great. Great single target damage, run away and auto detaunt tactics, lots of CCs. It can spec for melee which is solid AOE. Both specs struggle a bit with pet (not as much as WLs) which are broken in general.

Shaman - my personal pick. It can spec heal, it can spec dps. Fun to play, fun to look at. As a goblin good with kiting, auto detaunt and run away tactics.

Witchelf - stealth melee dps. Can pick up fight or vanish away, if situation is too hot. No utility for WB/big fights. Little to no AOE. OP in defensive gear with witchbrew spec.

Witch hunter - same as above. No OP defensive spec/gear. No use in big fights/ sieges.

It’s not about what server needs, but about what ppl like to play. Only that matters.

Was that about the shaman being needed for real or was it a joke?
I'm new and my question is serious. Sounds more like there are more than enough ;)

Healers are always needed, it was more about so many shaman players decide to go dps sham which in return doesn't really provide much for your group :) then again who am I to say since I play dps zealot but personally I'd say play whatever you want just know if you join group content like city/sc etc people might not be too cheerful towards you :D

I play a rr48 heal shaman and this is what my RoR experience is like:

1. Log in.
2. Check open warbands. None open, even at eu primetime.
3. Head to zone where it looks like there's action.
4. See lots of destro fighting.
5. Check open warbands again. None open.
6. Complain in chat.
7. Log off.

This is a game that, if you want to group, requires that you make friends and group with them. So I would recommend playing something that you can solo, and it's not heal shaman. That's why so many shaman go DPS. All of the classes you mentioned should be at least decent, though stealth from WE/WH can probably help you avoid getting inevitably run over by small groups.

As a shaman or greenskin in general you have quite a easy solution. Just join freebootaz and I'm sure you'll have almost always people to play with. Soloing is not really any better solution than just sticking to the blob and throwing some hots around since most of the time youre just getting run over by gank groups.

There are many shammans yes, but not because they are best healers on destro side. As was stated join Freebootaz (greenskins only guild) and You always find ppl to play with.
With pure classes You get bored at one point and this is when ability to switch betwen DPS and healing kicks in. Bored by DPS? Switch to heal. Bored by healing? Switch to DPS.
I advice to try all characters You mentioned to at least lvl 20 (higher is better) and decide if You like that play style or not.
