Played a scenario, my team got pushed to the spawn, I used artillery, killed a couple of players, could see my team start to push the enemy back - got booted from the sc for standing too long in the spawn, despite actively using artillery, making dmg and getting kills.
Doesn't seem like it's entirely thought through.

It isn’t about to be passionate at this point, it is frustrating and unfair. Frustrating because we see over and over same behaviour yet nobody moves a finger to fix this problem. Unfair for the fact things are working around to benefit certain people.
I really appreciate you guys let us keep the criticism and rise our voices, but i can also understand how others have been reached their limit.

The change only suits people that get mad when they cant farm a certain person with their premade. Anything that stops people from playing the game is bad. Scens were really just a bit of fun and an option when your wb lead isnt on. Organise ranked or 6v6 if you want sweaty fights like we used to do on live. Forcing people to play that way is the quickest way to have no one in the game. On the scennario changes and some others, i think punishment in general is a very bad motivator.
One would think that under current circumstances the most important thing would be to reward the weaker side (the pug, the players who still dare to join against premades etc.) by every possible way, and not just by saying get a group or ltp, gitgud and so on. (Also true for the blobbing, xrealming as AAO means nothing if the majority cant kill anybody)
There is zero motivation in getting 0 renown, 1 crest and a possible 10min punishment. This could also lead to loosing the mood for queing scs at all, not to mention, playing the game in general to feed premades/ blob with bodies to farm..

Yep i fully agree with Gara. Thoses changes arent healthy at all, destroy even more pugs/newcomers/casuals/most of playerbase motivation and treat them furthemore like simple meat.

This rework feels very weak for a problem that exists for almost as long as this server itself. All that need to be done imo, was to place spawn guards a bit outside of the spawn to prevent spawnkilling on both sides, and rework the matchmaking system.
With those changes, we still have the same problems as before but with "extra steps". And as someone has pointed out here before, you get kicked out of SC if you are using artillery to fight the spawnkills...

I'm not one to badmouth the server and I've borderline proselytized for RoR in the past but this is ridiculous.

While the AFKing problem in scenarios needs to be addressed, the solution should be to address the cause, not the symptom. I think the dev team is smart enough to recognize this and is going to revert the change fairly soon.
On another note, allowing people to move around more freely in spawn before the scenario starts is not a necessary change. It doesn't seem to address any problem, wasn't fully thought out and causes unintended side-effects. For example, in the Doomfist Crater scenario, destro's spawn platforms are placed such that destro can move closer to the center than order, allowing them a slight head-start and to funnel order on the rope bridge.
This is another example of a half-baked change seemingly implemented to 'see what happens' which will promptly be forgotten about and left in the game indefinitely.
Other changes are really good. Adding Kill damage to the scoreboard as its own category is great. Ranked changes are good, as is the champ challenge fix. Overall, mostly positive changes and hopefully the idle hands change is a hiccup that gets reverted as the server tries to make itself more casual friendly.
