Healer Renown

I've decided to get back in the saddle of my zealot but I've noticed how crappy my renown gains are in WB play compared to my choppa and my IB WB play. Can anyone enlighten me on renown distribution? I understand AAO but is there anything I can do as a healer in fights that won't reduce my healing output but still capitalize on renown gains? Thank you! (I write this with the thought process that landed damage on a target prior to its death gains more renown. Please correct me if I'm incorrect)

From RoR wiki:
Earning Renown Points
There are many ways to earn Renown Points. These include:

Killing enemy players, or being in a party with those who do.
Running Supply boxes from Battlefield Objectives to Warcamps or Keeps.
Healing allies who have recently fought/killed enemy players.
Participating in Keep Captures, Zone locks, Scenarios, Fortresses and City Sieges.

It's all about the kill damage your group does. So if you are healing good DPS in your group, you will get loads of renown. But if you are healing bad DPS, your rewards will also be low.

Renown and kill rewards are distributed by damage dealt, so if your party have better geared dps your party will get more renown and crests there is also added rng into that but dmg is more important. Which is not good imo because even tho you are helping the warband get that kill, the party with better dps gets more rewards, rewards should be equally split in a warband not between party only but thats just what I think not how game works, as for your problem try to get into better geared dps party in your warband
Destruction: 40-BG / 40-DoK / 40-Chosen / 37-Mara / 37/Sorc / 36-SH / 36-Choppa / 24-Shaman / 16-WE
Order: 40-SW / 40-SM / 40-WP / 40-WL / 39-Kotbs / 38-BW / 33-AM / 22-WH / 16-RP / 12-Slayer

Ive noticed that in scenarios yesterday, lets say, i take a pop but I land in 2nd party and for some time that party isnt filled im not getting good chunck of renown - mid tier below 5k rps, but that doesnt apply to exp, in every won scenario yesterday I always got 100k exp. Could you check maybe if renown is party shared, but scenario exp is global for everyone in scenario?

It's been 15 years since I played my AM on live but I remember the renown flowing being a solo healer. Sadly I think that's been nerfed pretty badly on this server "as to encourage group play".

Because what the game doesn't need is people running around healing out of group.

Now it's 99% or 100% based on damage / percentage of damage done to kill target. You can see that percentage on any kill on the killboard by hitting "details". All healing does is increase the likelihood your dps does more % damage.

Are you sure that the large amount of XP isn't supplied by the bonus you get at the end of the scenario?

I dont know what makes huge exp income after lost sc compared to won, if u win ratio xp/rp is around 10:1, if u lose its 30+:1
That doesnt make sense. Especially for mid tier. Its pushing out losers out of tier with bad renown gains.

it was nerfed for some daft reason.

You actually get more renown being a DPS healer now.

My advice is, dont play a healer, because the game actively punishes you for it.

Pretty sad really.

Years ago I got into it a bit with a Community manager about his thoughts that PUGs are destroying the game. I said then and I still believe that if PUGs and solos weren't nerfed to death just because they don't want to or don't have time to join a group, that server population would be at least 1/3rd larger.
When it comes to PUG healers, well, they don't know whether you're in a WB or not, they just throw heals trying to keep you alive and to grab a bit of renown. This takes at least some strain off in-WB healers eh? To stifle RP gain for solo healers I feel hurts the game greatly. I have 3 healers and frankly, I couldn't be bothered playing them.
