My feedback after a month in RoR

Hello and I hope this reach the right ears!
I'm an old live player who started RoR recently, played for almost 2 months, got a char rr80 and other few rr50-60.

The game as it is today is not an enjoyable experience, lemme try to break down why:
- I believe you are focusing too much on balance, but that should be really 2nd plan action (except for obvious huge imbalances) and focus more on making oRvR a more enjoyable experience as it currently is.
- oRvR is just blob or get blobbed, pure numbers game that offer very few in terms of strategy and rewarding player faction decision
- "endgoal" of oRvR is forts, which is just a small door that you need to push. Nothing interessting comes out of forts as they are as now
- Organized groups can turn the tides against pug groups for sure, but even there, there is very few margin for enjoyment, stompers will stomp, the end.
- The game is about 2 factions fighting each other for control of the maps, but I can play Order the morning and Destro the evening? (see xrealm and all related issues already shone to light by others)
Playing with Brodda (just to name a known name, not pointing finger against him/her) in the morning and against a few hours later feels really weird and unsatisfying

You have a nice roadmap about balance and all, a small team dedicated to it, but that should not be the main attraction. In the end nobody cares if sorc or slayer is doing 10% more damage than his counterpart, we just want to have fun in oRvR, having fun achievable goals, for big and smalls groups.
So you will answer me, and how to do you plan to achieve that?

I want to bring to your attention private Dark Age of Camelot server Eden.
Every damning problems about oRvR, xrealm, content for all groups sized has been fixed on this server.
Making oRvR an enjoyable and accessible experience for all has always been their main focus and it shows, the server is thriving, oRvR is always active (with 3 factions may I add for people who dont know about DAoC!)
Eden DAoC has all the answers you are looking for to make oRVR in RoR an enjoyable experience again.

Playing Praag every day is not the problem, playing Praag every day and the SAME WAY IS the problem.

Imo you should focus your ressources to bring more people in oRvR (like quests in the lakes, event in them (again see Eden DAoC that does this well)) and diversify objectives and goals.
Again, I'm not a game developper, I do not know what it entails to add stuff in the game. Might be very hard/long, understandable.
But you're proudly showcasing balance changes and PvE every time you adding new content while the main draw of the game, oRvR, is just pure boredom, waiting to have the bigger blob the push the little door, and do the same thing on the next map.

There is no sense of realm pride, making efforts to win a zone feels meaningless, all the essence of what it is to partake in the war for your faction against another is totally gone in RoR. And there lies for me the major problem of RoR. Winning for your faction should be the endgoal, your main motivation, not having a 5th rr80 full geared toon.

Sorry for the long post, hope this helps to have an insight of what it is to be a new/returning player in RoR these days.

You make some interesting points and raise issues worthy of discussion. I am not attempting to derail or divert your thread however I am going to make a suggestion.

The Tothmonra RoR Podcast would be the perfect platform to have your voice heard. It is conducted live on Twitch and all you need to be a guest is the ability to log into a Discord channel. And talk, of course.

The next Podcast will be conducted on Saturday, July 6th at 12 Noon EST. Please consider being a guest. The primary reason for this is the Devs do not read the forums. They have admitted this to Toth themselves. However they do listen to the Podcast.

We could discuss this point alone, quote:

"Playing Praag every day is not the problem, playing Praag every day and the SAME WAY IS the problem."

For an hour easy.

My dear friend in this sentence you found the source of all these you mentioned but I don't think is possible now for the team to put a third faction or make huge changes so the xrealming , blobs etc will stop!! I don't disagree with you about ORVR but from the other hand if you remember live , the game now maybe is not perfect but 100% better than what it was!! Tons of PvE to explore and the RvR experience much much better because of the balancing!! Personally I don't see it as doing the same thing every day but I feel this "war never ends" chill every time I walk in the battlegrounds!! A suggestion try to explore PvE also (if you didn't already) ,so in prime times if blobs tiring you , you will have a pleasant break from fighting!! The team improving the game continuously and I have great hopes that we didn't see yet the pick of what this game can be!!
With respect Kaktos the sorcerer!!!

Then you need to tale it up with Toth, because he has stated so on numerous occasions during his Podcast.

Or, perhaps, you know, engage is some simple polite discussion.

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback!

We are also not happy about the state of RvR, and the Devs. already spend a lot of time thinking about how it could be improved. There's already some provisional plans for how it could get better, but since rebalancing has already started, we cannot leave it half-finished with many careers in an incomplete or in an unacceptable state.

We hope that soon we can start releasing updates to other parts of the game as well!

I also feel slightly hurt by this statement as I read 95% of the forums :( , if not every single post created, along with us engaging in discussions / answering DMs on a daily basis. Maybe we don't respond to every thread, but that's also not something we have the resources for or can do.

We definitely read the forums and especially feedback.

Agreed wholeheartedly with the general gist of OP's post.

ORvR is in a rough state right now, there is little objective based play because it is so unrewarding to do.
Eventually, smashing blobs into each other in mid gets boring.
Of course, it's still fun enough to log in for a few hours, but I can see it being an exit point after a while.

The campaign is almost always taking place in Empire/Chaos T4 because there simply isn't any motivation to actually win realm war right now.

Sadly, I'm not experienced enough to make concrete suggestions at the moment.
There is a lot on the table right now, like SC matchmaking rework, class balance, and PvE restoration.

I don't want to devalue these efforts because I think they are important for all kinds of different reasons. However, I hope that we can look forward to an RvR rework in the pipeline sometime, and maybe some minor tweaks in the near future.

While I was writing this Hazmy beat me to the punch on a response so I guess my thoughts are more of a posterity note now haha ;)
I do find the claim devs don't read strange as he's clearly read and responded to my feedback posts as well.
There is a lot of chatter in the many categories, and I don't think anyone could read and respond to literally all of it.

Maybe something about that was taken out of context...?

My original intent in posting here amounted to nothing more than the opportunity to suggest and/or provide the OP, faeryl12, with another viable format in which to discuss his concerns. I did that because the issues he raised would be excellent topics for open discussion, particularly on Toth's Podcast. Ok, so you guys read the forums.

Why would you not also support Toth's Podcast as a viable means to discuss RoR related issues?
