Reduce the tankiness of healers and healer hybrids

There is no value to assasins in this game because of how tanky all the 'squishy' clothies are.

Why bother bringing a dps welf, assault SW or WH or single target melee to a scenario when the healers are stacking huge toughness/ crit immune and wounds as standard. And then they get detaunt/ guard as well. There is literally zero value in these types of melee class as a result.

Then what happens is every game the teams just meet in the middle for the obligatory chopper vs WL blob fight that is just won on attrition aoe dps and aoe healing.
Making squishier healers might also help deal with the premade vs pug problem in scenarios where stacking overtuned healers cannot be overcome.

Instead make it so more healers are stacking willpower/ heal crit to be impactful instead of being defacto tanks.

This might also solve the problem of dps ams but especially dps shaman being overpowered in roam.
DPS shaman have an overtuned kit that provides great damage/ kite/ tankiness / and healing, all at 100ft. They sacrifice nothing. They will deny this but it is true. Its why you see huge numbers of squiggie shaman teams just going around massacring everyone with big K/D ratios.

As for what to do maybe make willpower and heal crit more attractive or nerf detaunt by stopping people healing while detaunting just like dps'ers have to stop dps'ing while they use a detaunt.

The problem is that willpower scales very poorly, and healers don't need to invest in it to heal sufficiently. As a result, it's a no-brainer for every healer to stack defenses to the brim, which they can do at virtually no trade-off. This makes no sense for an archetype that already gets the highest range in the game at 150ft, and does not need to stick its neck out in the same way that dps classes have to.

My view is: there should be a trade-off.

The way to get there is to make willpower scale better, while reducing base healing.

The end result should be an overall loss in tankiness, but also the option to stack willpower in a way that provides significantly more healing in a risk-reward type fashion.

This is largely because Aor/RoR used to have 1.15s Gcd and now its 1.5s. Basically from 8 instant skills in 10+sec before and 6 instant skills in 10s now. This obviously favours those who have cast times 1.5s or higher. Bring proper Aoe HD back to Dok and aoe cap to 9 with morale dmg cap removed.

And obviously bring the old gcd back, it was much smoother and less bugs!

If the dps is guarded and detaunt then they're pretty hard to kill as well, may as well nerf them while we're at it.

You dont need to do more than that and the Combat is better for everything in the game guaranteed. Also Bring old Crit amounts back and nerf - Crit reduction from RR. 45 points for 14% crit but 30 points for 15% crit redu? And bring back "over the top" CC nerfed a bit like 5s aoe Kd dok/bw morale 2 way back in the game. And 9s ae stagger, but 6s and Runefang,Mighty soul, Crippling strikes etc all the removed skills alike.

Pounce usable in Air/from Kb and pet actually being there when you land + getting grp heals/buffs again.

From the way you present the situation it seems that you are a solo palyer.

Yes, in solo gameplay a pure DPS can get beaten by a hybrid (healer/tank in DPS spec) with better or equal gear + skill (gear is a major factor in the game).

Ror is primarily a team game. That said I wouldn't mind seeing hybrids going a peg down or, even better, DPS going a peg up. TTK is already pretty silly when two teams of equal gear meet. Maybe stronger DPS would fix this.

But idk. No idea how to balance it. And anyone who says they do is talking bullshit. Ror has 24 classes, 72 mastery trees. Anyone who says they know how to balance it is talking purely out of their a$$.

There's two sides to the TTK problem.

Things that are inside the safety net are nigh-impossible to kill, and things outside of it might die in two seconds.

Keeping the safety net as it is in terms of defensive potential might be preferable, since it is one of the things that characterizes RoR.

An ideal solution would be that players are given more tactical options to deal with the safety net. Making healers more vulnerable is one way of doing that.

When players have more options there is less need for a low TTK, and DPS could start to be balanced more towards overall damage output rather than pure burst.

DPS full tuned into glass cannon single target should be able to threaten to kill a healer if given uptime
