Sigh. The loot rolling system is an utter waste of space unless it's respected, and for gear like this, it won't be. Therefore, we should remove the generic drops altogether and put the gear in vendors for a medallion cost. If people want drop-only gear, RvR sets can be used for that.

I've seen complaints that this game has become a grind, and the worst type of grind at that - a RNG grind. This thread, in combination with that, makes me think that it's about time this crap stopped.

And yes, the item in question was worthless. I believe it's Rank 3.

Having the screen fill up with gear after you wipe a warband during a keep defense is always fun, I don't think drops need to be removed from the game, just supplemented w/ vendors. Having a vendor sell woe/murderer runescribed/slaughterer for medallions would be nice, and would give purpose to ORvR which seems to be lacking right now with people wanting to get emblems for SC weapons.

penril i can tell what calibur of player you are.... with how you treat others... it wasnt a lvl 5 bow. it was lvl 15.... and that imagine is of a melee weapon not the bow...

All of this started when blue and purple gear were taken out of PvE mobs and made into RvR drops.

Yes, I know; Devs and a few other people wanted more people in the lakes. But you can not tell someone how to enjoy a game that THEY are playing, simply to increase your enjoyment. I still think that blue and purple PvE gear, should drop from PvE mobs, and when implemented, RvR gear drop from players in RvR as well as medallions to buy RvR gear and complete sets..

The entire armor acquisition system got all screwed up, because people got upset that other people spent their time doing sc's and farming mobs and did not dry hump the same 2 keeps and 4 BO's 50 times a day.

Put blue and purple PvE gear back in PvE where it belongs!

It's all luck. For some gear, only one class can select gear, then some classes (ie. WL/AM/SW or BW/WH etc.), then at the most, anyone in the realm can select need.

We didn't tell anyone anything.

People farmed PvE because it was considered the most reliable way to get gear at the time. Very few people came to the forum after the change was announced to say "Please, don't remove drops from mobs, I love farming so much!" so I'm choosing to believe that means that the vast majority of people do not play a game with the intention of replicating the tedium of working.

I congratulate those who have the patience to tolerate doing work so that they can participate in an alpha (a concept unique to MMOs) rather than simply playing a game which either allows them to play without forcing them to jump through hoops, or works the progression into the actual game content.

Gear in PvE promotes botting

Pretty simple. You might as well give the gear out, because people are going to bot it. The PvE in RoR is so mind-numbingly dull that it can be botted. I don't understand why such a simple endeavour should be rewarded, and, indeed, I don't see why I should be expected to do something so boring if I want that gear. If you like it, fine, but those of us who don't should be allowed to bot it or have a massive advantage for RvRing for it.

I would not be surprised if a significant number of any people who object to PvE gear removal did so because they wanted to bot it.

The gear drops from players. Not from keeps. Not from BOs. And it doesn't stop dropping just because people are playing scenarios.

They should add vendors that sell gear thats aquired from ORvR medals, that way it gets people out into the lakes and fighting instead of just SC farming and PvE Grinding. Honestly with the way things are going all im seeing is Greedy Loot Whores who care nothing for the community and are only in it for their own selfish gain. Not everyone has 5+ hours a day to farm PvE to get the best loot and those who do are filling up the AH with overpriced items - Which then becomes a game of greed.

Ex: That bow that dropped.. i don't know if he was going to use it on an alt or give it to a friend but chances are he's going to sell it for lots of gold so he can buy all that overpriced gear in the AH.

Now before u guys load your guns, remember this is just my opinion.

The problem is that while you guys took out blues and purp to make people go into the lakes ( and it did work ), you guys undid all that with the sc weapons cause now the lakes are kinda empty again and every one afks in capital or wc waiting for pops.

The solution is simple put gear like woe, murder and rune in vendors that require war crests that can only be gotten from keeps and but some ubsured 100-250 per item cost and their you go you have your end game and grind while every one is in the lakes or we bear with all of this and wait for more rvr gear/vendor options
