I have yesterday watched the first half of Gettysburg.
NOW I'm in the mood for some marching, singing and formation shooting. :D

Cavalry is in the making, if we could also get now some artillery. ;)

See you this evening.

Great movie! I loved how it is almost a documentary as times with all its offered information!

Hopefully I will make it in time for the event.

Sweet Valaya!
That was an Event! :D

But lets start from the beginning.
At 8pm six dwarfs met at the warcamp for the Roleplay Part of the Event.
Image

We marched to Krausners Camp, made target pratices, sang, eat, and had some nice roleplay activities. A full report of that will come at a later day. To made it short, it was alot of fun.

But around 9pm I was told that there are dwarfs waiting in the warcamp for us.
Eager me marched on the double into the Warcamp, and in an instant we had a Warband of 20 Dwarfs.

At that point I thought of two possible Endings for that Evening.

Either we would go in, met some Detros, break them and drive them to their warcamp. Then half of them would log off, the other half went into SCs. We would then take one BO after the other, take both Keeps, sing some Songs and call it a day.

Or we go in, meet another Destro Warband and the Server Crashes. One hour later we would be back with 6 Bitterstone Thunderers doing some regular RvR or trying to get as a group into some SCs.

But what happened was alternative three. There were TWO Destro Warbands waiting for us, with their single purpose on hunting and destroying us. And the Server wouldn't prevent the Bitterstone from that doom.

So we startet to Attack Mandred's Keep. In two Minutes we were through the doors and the Keep Lord was dead at our feet. Some Dwarf said that this was the fastest Keep take he had seen.
Well, he was about to see a faster one.

While we were scattered in the Keep an Army of 50 Destros stormed the Castle and took us by surprise. Before we could say wazzok we were annihilated in an instant. And I gave not very comprehensive Orders in rallying on first floor, then second floor, then again first floor. And before I could see my errors the keep was in Destro Hands.

To say the least that was unexpected. But we are dwarfs! We rallied in the Warcamp and marched again. This time we need some Room to fully access our ranged DPS Power. We came on Mandreds fom the East with a wide flanking maneuver. And met them on the feet of the Keephill. But they were like an Avalanche and completely tore through us. Better said, they were like two Avalaches. While we hold of the front WB two groups of them flanked us and charged our flanks. We managed to shoot the flanking party but we were squished like a melon on an Anvil from the front warband which attacked simultaneously.

"That's it" I though. On any normal weekday, if a warband is completely destroyed two times in a row in 6 Minutes it falls apart. And with the SCs up again it was a real threat to this event.

But I have underestimated my fellow dwarfs! Resolute like Stone the waited for me to get another time in!

"We happy, we few, we band of Dwarfs!"
Image

Alone for that moment of resolute dwarf stoicism I was grateful. If the day would end that moment it would still be a good day to remember. But there was fighting spirit in us!

I knew that the flanking tactics of the Destros would be our End, so we need a choke point.
So we marched on Kinschels Stronghold. The Broken Walls would funnel the Destros in our shotguns.
Image

We took Kinschel in an instant but the Enemy was slow. Not eager to wait for them we advanced, but slowly and only from Position to Position. And then they came! We took them prepared and shot 5 orcs dead in an instant as they stormed our lines. It was a good fight, but the number of Destros was still overwhelming. A small group tried to attack us from the rear but we turned around in time, shot 6 of them dead in an instant and get on with the Orc Mob on our front.

But again, they were to much for our Warband alone.
Image

After regrouping in the warcamp, I looked at my map and saw that there was some Fighting near the Monastery of Morr. So we headed that way. And the enemy needed no invitation to confront us.
Image

Pleasantries were exchanged and the fighting began in earnest. Just a look at the radar on top right would let the blood of lesser men freeze. But not the fierce 3rd Bitterstone Thunderers!
Image

We fought to the small Hills southwest of the Monastery and set up a position on it. and with the help of the other Order Auxiliaries we keept them at bay. The server though got sometimes bad in the knees. but hold itself together and the fighting continued. We were winning, and turning the Tide of Darkness!
Image

The Destros tried to flank us again. But with a quick regroup to our back we scattered that plans more than once.
As on the screenshot seen the Orcs were good sportsmen. We were praised from them for our dedication and the good fight we gave. And he was damn right. It felt a lot like you were in the middle of a table top Battle of Warhammer Fantasy.
Image

and some of the other order players used our moment of bravery to capture the monastery in our backs.
Image

So after some more fighting, shooting, dying and singing we regrouped to the Warcamp to end the Event.
Image

Well, that was a night to remember!
Several total Warband Kills and each time shooting to the end! No one of the dwarfs ran to die only later. It was great. And that we get them in the end even felt better. Get them might be the wrong words. We withstood their onslaught and hold them at bay is more correct. ;)

So I thank all participants! The Dwarfs for their stamina and firm moral and the Orcs for charging in style and with a Waaagh on their lips. That flanking is hard, and destros using tactics even more. ;)
Thank you all!

I haven't made that much screens from the action, BUT made three Videos from the event. I will cut them these days, so stay tuned. And remember:

Wednesday is D-Day! Dwarven Day! :D

I loved how it all developed, and I am pretty sure our counterparts on destruction are agreeable with that ;)

Thanks a lot for that praise, but I'm not alone. Drengk does a lot of advertisement, support and tactical twists. And other members of the 3rd Bitterstone talk other RP guilds into joining us. And without the devs we wouldn't even have this discussion. :) So your praise for cool content I would like to give over to these persons.

And I realized a long time ago: This is an MMO. If you play it like a normal game it will get stale very soon. But if you play it with a group of people who feel and talk like you, you can achieve moments of greatness.

And yesterday was a moment of greatness. :D
So wait till we get Banners, our floppy Thunderer Hats and a Squadron of Imperial Knights for our support.

Dwarfs have Leadership 8 and a hatred for Orcs. We only give up if we are dead. :D

And yes, after the first defeats, some of us changed to Runepriest to bolster the healing. We startet with 3 Runepriests for 20 dwarfs and later where on 5 or 6 I think. With some of you leaving, and we get support by the other Order players we were capable of fighting you back.

So a big thanks to you and the other Destro Warbandleaders.
How much of you where there exactly? The dying dwarf count every orc twice. ;)
