Also which tactics do you feel are good to use atm: obviously endless knowledge but should i use devour energy, infernal flesh or endless pandemonium

T4 will not be released anytime soon, if anything you'll be waiting at least 2 years. In t2 I used to slot endless pand + devour energy (you'll be AP starved a lot of times without devour energy). Your role should be to time stagger + surge of insanity to interrupt heals. Magi are not very strong until they can afford the proper RR's. Pand/glean/warp/bane. Just remember scenario numbers mean nothing (no group cleanse means your dots will continue to tick).

Just realize you are not a sorc, I think a lot of people get turned off of magus because they aren't doing huge damage single target.

You have 2 aoe interrupts (one is also a stagger), AoE spirit res debuff, single target ele debuff, and really good fluff damage that will destroy a team with bad healers. And the best thing of all the tactic were your minion gives 10 AP a sec to anyone 20ft of it, one of the best tactics in T2.

Your usefulness is greater in a party with sorcs/chosen. It's not the best class in T2 destro side, but you could do worse (WE).

Magus is ok until group cleanse becomes available the the class becomes subpar
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

I played as Magus for last year, and let me tell you few things.
Magus is much more about direct damage than Engineer. So you shouldn`t really pay attention to second tree.

Tactics.
When you get to 80 rr, intelligence tactic will pe optional. It might be tactic for crit from 1st tree.
+15% of total damage from Withered Soul does a great job not only to you or your group, but everybody who is about to focus annoyung bright or op-heal.
Bolt of Change is must have. On short range for 1.5 sec cast it`s gonna be quite a damage even if not crit. Disarm-the same.
AP from Daemon-no word to say here. Healers and casters will only love you. And you yourself will be able to show all your potential.

And what would be the optimal rotation for that? I never saw a spec like that and I played a r100 magus. No IFOC? and AP isn't an issue at 40.

Also, I don't believe people rolled a magus because they thought it would be a high single target dps class. That was never the purpose of the class. Dots, debuffs and attrition was the main role (or was supposed to be). Even at r100 the damage was not comparable to a sorcerer. However, magus was a lot more tankable and could definitely put out pretty decent damage at higher rr (+ they have the sexiest armor). If anything, it was like playing a sorc at 50% dhar but with the ability to take quite a beating.

If you are speaking in terms of our current tier (t2), then you may see numbers well above 100,000. But, there are a LOT of healers and the only reason the numbers will look high on paper is because they are not being cleansed (they are however being easily healed).

It is VERY rare to join a scenario and not see a shitload of doks/wp/am's/shammies here.

Magus at this level is all about putting pressure on healers through strong AoE and multiple casting interrupts/stealing their AP with M2. While SC numbers can be deceptive, your ability to lock down healers is real and it can be very effective if played properly.

Well, I was direct-damage magus on russian server. And I was known on this server quite well.
And I didn`t think , that I`ll do direct big damage.
I was the one doing it.

You will never outdps a sorcerer as a magus. Can they do damage? sure, anyone can do damage in this game. my r52 sorc easily outdamaged my magus; however, he was also squishy as hell and that made my magus a lot more fun to play.
