Tips for leveling
Tips for leveling
Hi I’m a new player started the game about 4 days ago my characters name is KrimelCrungy and I’m a lvl12 chosen. I’ve really been enjoying the game and the pvp is super good but I have some questions are there any specific ways to level up in the game or like specific tips for things I should be doing to level in the game? So far I’ve just been grinding scenarios. https://nox.tips/ https://null/

Re: Tips for leveling
Scenarios are a good way to level here - any form of pvp in general is viable, so feel free to go out in the rvr lakes and conquer ****. You can also sprinkle in a reasonable amount of PvE. General rule of thump is, to keep your reknown rank (rr) above your career rank (cr), so you can wear all the decent sets along the way.
Also if you get the opportunity to group up, you will find any forms of pvp even more enjoyable.

I've recently returned and have nearly hit 40, so I can share some tips.khunsu wrote: Wed Jun 08, 2022 1:24 pm Hi I’m a new player started the game about 4 days ago my characters name is KrimelCrungy and I’m a lvl12 chosen. I’ve really been enjoying the game and the pvp is super good but I have some questions are there any specific ways to level up in the game or like specific tips for things I should be doing to level in the game? So far I’ve just been grinding scenarios.
1) Generally, stick to scenarios
Scenarios will get you good XP and good RR, but also they will give you a consistent supply of war crests (the currency u buy gear with). I would recommend sticking to SCs almost exclusively until level 30. After 30, start dipping your toes into RvR - you'll still get creamed, but you might at least be able to contribute something and you need to learn how it all works eventually.
2) Keep your renown rank above your career rank.
You have two general targets when leveling that may cause you some issues: lvl 35 / rr39 and lvl 40 / rr45 (so you can wear the anni gear set, then the conq gear set). If all you do is scenarios, keeping level and renown the same is easy, but getting further ahead on renown is tougher. Luckily, the game has a solution: -75% xp scrolls. You can buy these from a quartermaster for 30silver each once you turn level 16. I started using them around lvl32 to help let my RR get ahead.
3) You are a tank, so be a tank......but don't be afraid to experiment
You are playing a chosen, a tank, so try to be a tank. Gear up and spec for being an unkillable bastard and your teammates will love you for it. You may not be able to kill anything, but that's not your job. Become as unkillable as possible, guard a squishie healer or dps, then laugh!
This advice is mainly about gearing. Every class has multiple gear sets, but whilst leveling it is doubtful you will be able to afford more than one. So, generally, buy the tank gear. That said, the leveling process is all about learning the game, so don't be afraid to experiment. I only ever bought the tanky war crest gear for my BO, but I made sure I had a 2h axe as well as damage focused jewellery for when I wanted to change things up a bit.
4) Don't neglect crafting
Being able to mess about with talismans, or having a free supply of potions, is a boon. Being a PvP game, you are reliant on other players for content, but sometimes those players are asleep! I recommend using your downtime for leveling up your crafting skills. Spec for DPS / AoE, head out to a public quest somewhere and farm for however long you can stand it.
My crafting was usually behind my career level, so I ended up farming PQs 3-10 levels beneath me. Doing it that way, I could solo all easy's, most normals and some hard PQs. I preferred to choose PQs that I could finish solo so that I could get a loot bag at the end. You should definitely use a -xp scroll when farming mats, otherwise your renown rank will fall too far behind.
5) Pay attention to the live events
Every weekend, there is a "weekend warfront". This just means that a single scenario has been chosen for the event and you get a ton of bonuses for playing that scenario. Usuaully +50% xp/renown, as well as rewards for completing tasks in that scenario. The first event reward includes a +25% renown potion for 72hours. There is also a weekly RvR event with similar rewards.
What this means is that, if you do both rvr and sc events, you can have a +25% renown buff running 6 days a week. And the xp/rr bonus from the scenario can make leveling quicker. Take advantage of these things.
