Login timeout help?

I know that the sticky says to use a VPN, but is there really no other way? I can't install this kind of software on the PC that I have as it's not mine, so what are other things that I can try?

Login timeout may be caused by firewall or proxy server (or another unusualtype of internet connection).

So check firewall settings. If the problem is due the type of the connection, VPN is the only reliable way to fix it as it masks your IP settings and/or the proxy server.

As the person above says, check firewall settings (add an exception for war.exe) and also add an exception for the war folder on your anti virus, if you use any.

I've dug for a while through some old threads and if firewall workaround will fail, you could try to open port no. 8048.

I tried that but I still can't log into the server. I've noticed that I log into the game just fine, but when I try to connect to the private server that's when the timeouts happen. Thanks though for the link.

If you still got the download files, try re-extracting the game again.

Have you tried to ping to 178.32.58.46?

(The answer could suggest if the problem is in game files or network/firewall settings).
