When the only reliable way to not out-rank the gear, until you get enough crests,
is to use -xp scroll, then gear cost has to be adjusted.
Not to mention doing some pve and getting even faster ranks.
In the past, xp from sc was increased too.
Dying is no option.

Players hoarding every bit of war crest, running undergeared on purpose to "reach the end gear" a little faster.
Enforcing stable progress of next tier of gear at least secures certain decent level of gear as they progress towards sovereign.
Active pvp produces crazy good crest gains as it is, allowing to stay up to date with gear while collecting crest towards next set. It might not be perfect across all levels but adjustments are likely to happen to sort that issue.
how am i up to date with gear when i need a month to farm conqs, months for vanqs, months for invader, and then hopefully a year to reach sov?

just do away with gear unlocks sub Vanquisher, or drasitically reduce the costs of Conq and below weapons/gear. IF fragment farming is an issue make the items unsalvagable. I would say the same for Officer and Below potions, the price is out of whack.

How much war crest give a win and lose a lock in t1? it's not like after 3 lock you out of t1 etc. Likely sub vanq itiem need a cost drop but i dont think the sich is so bad as ppl describe.
You still need up to date gear to make use of bolster in t2+ when sub rank 40.
You are forced anyway to wear up to date gear. If you start from lv 1 you should have no prob, probable ppl between lv 1 and conqueror got a bit screw due conversion. The gain isn't the problem, likely the conversion ratio was (they should had gained a tantum). Imo an esponential cost cut, higher the lower is the equip, from anni and under sets will fix this. And It's likely is alredy on the way.

Month for conq? Year for sov? That would mean you struggle to make 10 kills a day. Without counting locks, sc, bags, warfront, cities.

Guess what, I think the DoK will gather dust in the future.
Can someone explain this better? I was saving up crests to get oppressor set. I was going to use crests only for dominator weapons. The time I hit rr55-58 I should have enough for oppressor.
Your saying I have to buy pieces of dominator to unlock the next set? There is no pre requisite mentioned anywhere at the merchant.
How many pieces of dominator would I need to unlock oppressor?

i started playing around january 8th. on my SW main i have vanqs now, 4/7 invader. and that's while i was playing more than i usually can on old system where i get my vanq drops in bags and bought only one missing piece(arms and boots i got from guildies, same as conqs.). so you do the math how long would it take for a new player to get to conqs/vanqs/invader from level 1, but here's my 2 cents. maybe you're just too pro and i'm just too noob, it's probably that :)

According to the patch notes u will now need a complete set of dominator/conqueror or a mix of both to unlock the oppressor/vanq-set. I had it not tested my self yet cause of i´m only RR 54 atm

Gear ToK Prerequisites
We're working on a system that will tolerate different gear mixtures as prerequisite for higher gear tiers, instead of strictly requiring complete sets. These mixtures of gears need to respect the minimum required tier though.

For example, 2 pieces of annihilator mixed with 3 pieces of mercenary would still unlock conqueror/dominator.

It is important to understand why higher tier gears are locked in a way that the game requires you to unlock lower gear tiers:
- Avoids the need to save every crest for the endgame gear by requiring you to buy gear along the way as a way of gear progression
- Allows the team to have basically same rewards for same content at all levels. Instead of complicated systems with lower rewards at certain RR thresholds like we had before

I saw this, assumed it was something if you wanted to do. I didnt know there were gear locks in general. Thanks.
