I have never seen a pug turn into a "pre made" because the random lead turned on AB. Bad leads using AB poorly is limiting pugs/overflows and alts. The entire reason for a pug group is so the alts and new guys have a chance to rank and learn...why remove that from them? My alt was in a pug later closed """pre made""". Parties not fixed, no orders given, lead not talking in 2 chat but hey lets turn on AB and limit who can join and rank. Not only that but change a setting in AB that removes extra specs from the wb. that nice party filled with healers, gone. Lets make sure up and coming healers do not rank fast or enjoy rvr.
Let the pugs stay pugs, let the overflow follow the blob. If at any point you feel the need to turn on AB, leave and start your own wb.

Re: Autoband Blunders
I don't use autoband. When I find myself leader, I try my best to maintain 2/2/2 for each group, I'm open to anyone joining who wants to, and I try to not get them all killed as best as I can.
It may only last as long as a particular siege or fort fight, but everyone should have a group they can join and run with.

Re: Autoband Blunders
Autoband kick feature is really unfortunate. I remember some time ago, I was made leader of preped warband to queue for city. I totally forgot I got AB installed and moment I was made leader - puff! extra dps spec healer in ST party was gone. Everyone shouts on on discord, my hands are shaking, looking for button to turn off AB
Never used again that crap.
On other hand sorting feature is really great for very busy leaders. If only there was some addon developers who could tweak a bit AB with removing autokick and add ignore certain group to shuffle groups. That would make AB a usable tool.

Re: Autoband Blunders
Autoband is a great addon
The problem is not the addon, the problem are the players who think they can join to a WB and stay 500 feets away from lead.

Re: Autoband Blunders
Not sure what this thread is about... . You were in a Warband and the leader wasn't able to use it right? So what, leave and open another warband without any kind of regulation. Nobody is forced to join a warband with Autoband.
It's just a "I'm offenedet because I don't like this addon so nobody should use it" thread.

actually i say thanks god for that addon! no more monodps warbands!

Re: Autoband Blunders
I always went with the idea that if people wanted to join, everyone was welcome. If the composition is subobtimal I let people know, and people either willl stick to wb because they are having fun, or will drop and will sortr itself out at some point.
If you are "too busy" when thats what assistant is for.
Making people feel unwelcome is certainly not what this game needs...

Re: Autoband Blunders
Great post! There aren't many other things that push new players and alts to just quit than to try to do what the devs want, play in groups, only to be auto-kicked because they're too low or not the right class. Pick Up Groups make it tolerable for players both new and experienced to learn how to play new toons and how to interact in groups. To limit that is to push RoR's community to nothing but a small amount of elites on their high RR mains (aka. BOREhammer).
Re: Autoband Blunders
I use Autoband to reorganize groups because I don't want to constantly manually move people around to make sure all groups have healers and tanks when people join and leave every 5 minutes.
