Game won't launch

Just downloaded the latest patch. Game shuts down just prior to my character appearing in the character selection screen.
Rebooted but no change.

Close the launcher, delete your cache, restart the launcher and watch to see if any files are downloaded, attempt to log in; if you still can't do so, run the repair tool in the launcher (gear icon in upper right).
