I dont do ranked myself however this week I was checking Leaderboards and it seems now all the stats that was being used as evidence has drastically changed. Just ranked dying off or something else that has caused a drastic and swift change to leaders ??
you all need to go watch some K-drama if you think this is drama (I recommend My Love From a Star!)

Not really sure what you are referring to when you say things have drastically changed, looks about the same to me, the data is from Pre-Season 2, and this season I'm expecting to look different for a couple of reasons:

1) new players who were/are not interested in ranked have started playing
2) previous ranked leaders stopped playing or haven't yet started
3) very good BIS players that didn't play ranked before are trying it out, and might be playing (and winning) on different classes.
4) some class changes
5) new ranked composition restrictions
6) it's still early season, things are still settling, it also means there can be big MMR swings for "unexpected" losses.
7) as long as you maintain a positive win rate, you will eventually make it to the top the more games you play, some people play more than others.

And ultimately there's a lot of luck involved, RoR ranked requires only 1 weak player on your team and you will most likely lose.
Yes, if you are a (very) good player and play a class that have good win conditions, you should evetually float to the top.
But when you compare RoR to other team games, LoL, Dota, CoD, all these games can to a much larger extend be carried by a strong player even if there's a weak player(s) on the team.

In LoL I got to Platinum 3 or 4 (which is like top 6%) here I can barely break MMR 0 on my SM unless I get a lucky streak of games with good players/classes.. probably I just got a lot worse but still feels like a lot of randomness out of my control (and i'm not gaming the queue and changing realm when one side is doing better, etc.), so I'm expecting high variability for whoever gets to the top and who stays there.

Except of course for Teefz who is clearly the protagonist of RoR and will as ordained be #1 at the end of every season :)

Don't think thats a good comparison, there's no difference in gear (maybe in CoD). With what mmorpg would u compare RoR SoloRanked ?

The point wasn't to compare to something similar (and I don't have any personal experience with other ranked mmorpgs), point was exactly that those games don't have as many uncontrollable factors (gear, rr, class and low population/high mmr differences.. losing mmr for missing queue pop.. ) as RoR does.
And other point was that those games can to a larger degree be carried by a single good player; if you lose 1 player in CoD, you can still quite easily win 4v5.. In RoR if you get a conq BW (or any dps/tank in conq for that matter) it's close to 0% chance to win, even if you/rest of team are BIS and the best on the server (except of course for Teefz who by the power of storytelling will get a miraculous DC on enemy healer  ).

In LoL if you dominate, you can get gear and temporary make a big difference, it doesn't matter as much if another team member is making a 10 mistakes, since eventually things even out.

Some of RoR ranked is like playing speed chess as a newbie starting without pawns and a queen that can't move going against Magnus Carlsen with a full board..

These differences to me explains a lot of variability and sometimes lack of control felt in RoR.

That being said sometimes RoR ranked is pretty perfect team vs team experience, where every aspect seems balanced and it's truly a test of who is the better team (not who as the better individual players).

So something is wrong with the queuer, probably has something to do with being a restricted class (SM).

I got a pop, which canceled due to a player dropping. I watched another game start without me. Ok.

Next queue I watched 3 games start with 3 tanks in queue for order each time, after the game starts it's down to 1 tank (me). Even if one of these is another SM, shouldn't I be next up?

I can only imagine what RDps is doing. Insignia are a pipe dream at this point, like the above poster every time I get above 0 MMR I get matched against some elite team and get knocked down again.

If theres a cancelelation and you don't get in the next 3 games most likely your que just broke, which used to happen idk of it still happens, re queuing fixes it or it can be mmr related ie if you are 1k+ and all the games that started were 0-999 games or the otherway if your not.

Try to look at win rates instead of mmr, you are welcome
