Melee combat ability animation issue; bug?

I noticed recently that there is an issue in melee combat in that the ability animation or the swing animation will not complete on direct attack abilities making so that the ability will not hit, I don’t have this issue if I use AoE abilites but on diret attack abilites like slasha, go for da soft spot, pitiless strike, ravage etc my character sometimes stops half way through the attack animation and doesn't make the ability hit, so I am wondering if there is a reason for this is occurring like if the attack doesn't finish b/c the target has moved out of range of the attack or if this is a bug with melee combat.

It really ruins my dps efficiency.

Server finds that you're out of range so it cancels and resets the ability.

Melee range feels very buggy...it only works when you are very close to your target.
Is there any plan to fix that?

At some point. It's "buggy" because by the time your melee attack request has reached the server, your characters are in different positions and thus out of range.

Glad to hear that cause melee classes are in great disadvantage atm and not much fun to play!

Like the stealth bug Aza this never happened before the combat rework so mayb it is fixable ? anyway the way combat feels now is a hell of alot better then it was so im all good with how it is, after all its only a visual bug nothing to get worked up about :D

It's deliberate, Morf - the alternative is blowing the cooldown for no effect as happened under the previous combat code.

this. melee combat is now so much better. no CD wasting anymore
I never really realised this current range bug. only that sometimes the WH finishers don't go off correctly, but thats ok. you just have to keep up to your fancy enemy :D

tbt i thought that it was b/c of the melee combat bug that rps are so annoying and hard to take down but nope rps are still annoying as **** to deal with and they "walk out of range" of melee attacks all the time and the flash heal means that they can troll destro all day long
