Ok so i started playing this game about a week and a half ago as a Black Orc and i brought him up to lvl 35, RR 33. Good times.
However, in the back of my mind, i was always attracted to playing a Witch Elf, the lore is great, the game mechanics are close enough to that of the Rogue from WoW, on paper it looked amazing!
... Not so much now that i'm leveling my lvl 10 RR 8 Witch Elf.
I'm getting absolutely shredded by Champion monsters 3 lvls below, even with using all my CDs, consumables, etc (i can take on Champion monsters 3 lvl above as a Black Orc with no CD and no potion!).
I DO understand that i'm only wearing a bra and a tong as a Witch Elf, i get it, but still... And in PvP, it's definitely NOT what i was hoping for. I'm getting MAULED by everybody, but especially by melee classes, Enchanting Beauty (the de-taunt i think it's called) is basically useless since they can slow me at will and destroy me in seconds. Literally. So trying to flee is not an option.
I DO understand that being lvl 10 only, the experience i'm having right now might not exactly be representative of what it's like to play a lvl 40 RR 80 Witch Elf, but i'm having some concerns, to say the least.
I read some threads regarding Witch Elf gameplay on these forums, and on some other sites. I understand that since i'm bringing close to 0 utility to a group, i'm gonna have a hard time getting a spot in dungeons, guarded or even healed in scenario or RvR, and that other players will just expect me to stealth my way to my own unavoidable demise trying to snipe a healer behind enemy lines... Basically, a 'stfu and go die alone behind that tree' kind of deal.
However, despite all this, i'm somehow still very much interested in the class, and even though this post might sound like yet another rant, i'm actually looking to get some insight as to what i'm doing wrong, perhaps a little bit of info about the class....
I don't know, i guess i'm looking to get anything from the community that would help me keep going with the class at this point, because to be honest, i kind of feel a little bit disappointed.
/cheers.

At level 10 rr 8 You gonna suck in most classes. Full potential is unlocked at level 40 in conqueror+ gear. At Your current level You miss all of the tools which makes Witch Elf to be a stealth nuker. Witch elf same as Witch hunter lost theyr AOE potential in last patch, so u should focus mainly on single target damage. At Your level You should stack Envenomed Blade, Slice, + finishers. Your bread and butter is stealth so use it visely and be avare of its 30s duration. T1 doesnt give any idea how the class perform at the endgame. Its night and day. Keep going and climb the mountain.Nuruhuine0190 wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:33 am Ok so i started playing this game about a week and a half ago as a Black Orc and i brought him up to lvl 35, RR 33. Re: Witch Elf, looking to get some insight
To be efficiant in solo PVE early on you really need to get a lot of renown points into parry and crit reduction.
For PVP you really need to work with other dps classes. If you got a lot of melee pressure, try follow a Choppa, Mara or Two hander tank while in stealth and look at what targets they pick. Wait until enemies blow CD's on those classes then pop out of stealth and focus dps on the target.
If you spot a rdps solo on a flank or misdplaced healer when stealthed, then go for that one instead. However, don't bother with healers that have optimal positioning, those will be impossible to kill on your own.
WE and WH is a exploit weakness class. Try playing with that in mind. Go for the weak targets first.

To go off of this, we/wh feels night and day better when u hit 30-32 and can fill out your tree and get a lot of your damage tactics unlocked.Wdova wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:28 pmAt level 10 rr 8 You gonna suck in most classes. Re: Witch Elf, looking to get some insight
Thanks for all the input. Helps a lot.
I was wondering about the stealth attack part of the gameplay though.
For some reason, i can't seem to be able to use Slice, or Envenomed Blade, or even Agonizing Wound while i'm in stealth. The only thing it seems i can use is Vehement Blades, but then it's not an attack, rather a buff of sort.
How do stealth attacks work in this game?

At 10 the attack says "whenever target uses a melee attack, they take x damage" also halves(?) Your ap costs for 10sNuruhuine0190 wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:15 pm Thanks for all the input. Helps a lot.

At lvl20 u get an open that says "whenever target moves they take x damage"
Lvl30 "whenever target casts a spell they take x damage"
Use opener appropriate who what would be more beneficial. The when target moves one generally a good one. It also grants you two combo points which gets you closer to a finisher.
Re: Witch Elf, looking to get some insight
Quit the pve leveling, you need more pvp experience.
Your struggling is a combination of being new and having bad gear for your rank and a rr lower than your rank tells me, that you did a little bit too much pve.
It's not your rank, I can say. You should actually melt most targets you encounter in t1.
If I'd see you online I would help you to find what goes wrong.

Dying is no option.
Re: Witch Elf, looking to get some insight
Generally speaking the stealth and explode an enemy is not a thing, in ror. (Unless the target happens to be in the wrong gear and already debuffed by a blackguard, on halfish hp, with a catatonic healer and a guard punted off a cliff)
A way to counteract it is to find likeminded WEs and when you get to like 3+ and a healer you can do it pretty well.
Don't expect to pad the meters like other dps or even coming close to what they can do, in group content. And you won't really feel good, even on single targets, until you get Increased pain and Bleeding Edge tactics, from halfway up tretchery and most of the way up carnage trees.
