Thread wasting space was thinking out load and missed a logic step in the discution , you can not talk about delta changes if you have not established a baseline


I was trying to find a concrete way to see how balance changes were being implemented currently.
So I went over the first page (now back to 12-10-2019) and list ability changes that affect one side only.
Here is the results based on change logs
Could not see nerf to winds of insanity (maybe happened earlier, got bored at 6 months back)

The following history surprised me, WL buffs matching marauder nerfs.

28-03-2020 - marauder drain nerf , slight dps buff - nerf to primary WB role
21-03-2020 - none
14-03-2020- none
07-03-2020- none
22-02-2020- marauder pull completion check, nerf (If applied generally would be fix but as only here’s nerf)
15-02-2020- none
01-02-2020- dps dok nerf
08-02-2020- none
25-02-2020- WL slight buff (more than the 09-11-2019 nerf), marauder slight buff and nerf
04-01-2020- none
18-01-2020- engi tracer round slight buff
11-01-2020- none
04-01-2020- none
07-12-2020- none

09-11-2019- WL slight nerf

28-10-2019- WL slight buff

The reason is either order-bias and real hate for Mara's on Devs side (very likely) or maybe cause you select an arbitrary timeline. This seems unlikely, but let me try it:

Something, something 2017: nerf to kobs dirty tricks (-5%) and SW leading shots (-7%); nothing happened on destro side.

It works. Destro-bias confirmed!

That aside I do not believe in dev bias , I have enough belief in the team that they have checks and balance.

There have been manny nerfs and buffs in history and the point I was trying to follow was quantifying and not cherry picking

If going back further in time proves your point it would be interesting, to me 6 months seemed reasonable.

I mean its a game you can only really play if you look at the full timeline. Azarael did hell of a lot more balancing back in the days. So 6 months is rather smoll aswell. I wasnt trying to prove you wrong showing these sw nerfs. Just wanted to give you a sense of what your post feels like to me ^^
Edit: but the biggest changes in ror history i remember from the top of my head atm is ranged dps m2 removal, Aoe/wb sw nerf, kotbs nerfs, book/chalice nerfs, sm resistance debuff stack nerf, wl/mara changes, proc meta nerf, shaman/am buffs, engi/mage buffs, resolute defense removal, asw/msq buff, we/wh changes. So i still say it goes both ways
