You download the game from the promoted sources (direct or torrent). No need to patch it. If you have an old version of the game forget that and do still download the game provided here.

You don't.

Both of the download options on the homepage (Direct download and Torrent) come with 1.4.8 already installed. You just download one of those, follow the instructions, and you're good to go.

If you still have Warhammer Online installed from when it was live, you would be better off just uninstalling it and using one of the above download options.
