well best is to get gear on your lvl and slot the best talis possible for this lvl, k you allready wrote this so i think you allready did that right? then next very important thing you need to skill your mastery points, next thing you need to spend your renown points on renown trainer! i know its basic but you didnt wrote about it so maybe you dont visit them and use this points?
i never played sw so i have no clue about what exactly they need maybe a experienced player can give you some good tips. In my experience surely you are a god in t3 sc cuz it feels like 90% of players dont care about gear or talis and they just do pve in a while they que for sc. but rvr is other story cuz you fight against max out geared people with high rr what makes alot difference, but if you spend mastery and rr point, have bis gear for your lvl and slot the talis you can beat a rr80 for sure. your dmg isnt that high like on 40/40 but you are much tankier what hit you on not same but similar lvl. Atleast you need to know which skill in what situation to use to have sucess, and moral thing is other story, cuz if you fight against someone who have m4 up and know how and on which time to use it you will get no chance....

i hope i could help you with this **** long text lol, longer then i thought...

and on the end i hope its understandable and sry for my bad grammatik and bad english

I don't know how pointing out the inaccuracy of a hypothetical situation brings anything to this conversation.

I'm sorry I'm on my phone and I don't have my toon's stats memorized.

Assuming it's relevant to someone, what's a fair amount of Ballistic Skill for him to have bolstered?

At the level of OP? Above 1200.
Dying is no option.

Well soft cap is 1050, so you want to end up between 1000-1050 with pot/conq buff on any DPS’s main stat.

Tzarken wrote: Wed May 15, 2019 12:21 am Ok, returning vet here, im currently R23 RR31 playing SW, when I queue into SCs I do great, typically top damage, high DB count, hit reasonable numbers ect, well geared, well gemmed, but in RvR, I generally hit for <dodge> or sub 50 damage against R40 players, I know some form of scaling is implemented, but I feel generally speaking I just get 2 shot and hit for 0, I understand having the best gear for your level is important but im near BiS till I ding 24 and can equip Mayhem, should I just rush to cap, because it generally seems pointless to participate in RvR content till then unless im missing something important.
What are you doing? Since your damage is physical it should vary quite a bit depending on your target. Are you spamming SFA with the AoE tactic against front line tanks?

I just leveled a SH through T3 recently, it's not the same exact thing but I did pretty well. Before you assume it's the level that's holding you back I would switch up some things you can control. Whether its target selection, build or what abilities you are using.

I actually had to stop doing RvR on my SH, because the rewards were so good and I wanted to stay in that mid tier SC bracket a little longer.

I dont want to make any assumptions about what you are doing, but if you are using SFA on tanks I would stop asap.

As far as dying goes. Always make sure there is a zerg in front of you. Run whenever someone is about to fart in your direction. If you notice a ranged dot being put on you, that's not a Magus AoE dot, reposition immediately.

If you dont need to be told any of this, then ignore what I said.

Returning vet so don't worry i've spent my mastery and renown points and did a bunch of build research into current metas, and im not spamming into frontlines either, it also seems somewhat varied, on occasion i'll be hitting squishy targets for real numbers, but for example, joining a fight and moving to meet with group occasionally i'll get caught in a 1v1, sometimes i feel like I stand a chance and even win if its a squishier target (sorcs, WEs, whatever) sometimes they feel untouchable, it just feels somewhat arbitrary but I suppose its irrelevant since i'll just hit cap soon anyway and i've kept my RR relatively high compared to my level, so hitting cap should be a smooth transition.
